Aggie87
Romo out 3 / 4 weeks with a broken finger on this throwing hand That's going to make things interesting in Dallas. As if underperforming weren't enough, now they've got to hand the offense over to Brad Johnson for the next month. I hope his jello arm can get the ball to T.O., or things could get ugly real quick. In addition to Romo being out for a month, Felix Jones is out for a bit, Sam Hurd is out for the year, and punter Matt McBriar is out for the year with a broken foot (from that kick attempt in overtime). In addition to Roy Williams being out, and Terence Newman being out. Man, that's alot of starters and contributors there. Plus one.
Aggie87
Jeez - never a dull moment in Cowboy-land. They just picked up Detroit WR Roy Williams, for a 1st, 3rd ,& 6th Rd pick in next year's draft. I don't think Brad Johnson will be able to get him the ball either, just like he won't be able to get it to T.O.
Jim Alfredson
If they do get Roy Williams the ball, he'll probably just drop it. Lions suck.

Aggie87
So when Safety Roy Williams returns to active status in a couple of weeks, are both of their jerseys going to say "Roy Williams" on them? Has a team ever had two players with the same name before? And Conn, I think I may agree with you. Detroit did well in this trade. I don't know if Williams was worth a 1st and 3rd. Probably just a 1st.

That SO cannot be good.... ehhh, Aggie beat me to it. But still.... just how incompetent is Jerry Jones? How much more damage is he gonna do to this team before he realizes just how little he knows about football? And PacMan's suspension is a joke. Wonder what kind of weasel deal Jerry pulled to get that sentence reduced? Good ol' Jerry: never met a human project he didn't like. Chalupa
Cowboys paid a high price for Roy Williams. He can help the Cowboys but... Advantage: Detroit. Definitely agree. I'm actually glad that the Eagles didn't do this trade even though they need WR help badly. Williams' numbers for the past 2 years have gone way done and his complaining has gone way up. Looks like the Lions are -finally- doing something right. Let's see Millen? Gone. Kitna? Gone. Williams? Gone. Plus they get a 1st, 3rd, and 6th in 2009. Good moves

Probably just a 1st. With Romo hurt, Williams probably won't be much of a factor until mid-November. Toss in a suspension for Pacman, TO likely to start whining and moaning about getting the ball, and the Cowboys could be facing some serious trouble. I'm a Giants fan, so it's not like I'm feeling too great after last night's no-show. With a great chance to get a good lead in the division, the Giants laid an egg. Shawn
Has a team ever had two players with the same name before? Well, I'm sure it's happened...plus there for awhile the "Bengals" could have changed their name to "The Johnsons"...Chad Johnson, Rudi Johnson, Jeremy Johnson...I think there were about 6 of them...none related. Aggie87
the cowboys sucked today That's an understatement! Brad Johnson looked AWFUL with 3 ints, and a spaghetti arm, Marion Barber fumbled, Roy Willliams was O fer, TO had no impact. On D they couldn't stop the run or the passing attack of the mighty Rams. Granted, the following starters or key players are all gone right now: Tony Romo Kyle Kosier Matt McBriar - for year Sam Hurd - for year Felix Jones Roy Williams (the other one) - for year Terence Newman Pacman Jones - for year (?) That's alot of secondary starters missing, but still no reason to play as poorly as they have on D.

It's hard to watch your team do a tailspin when they've seemingly put all the right pieces together. Opportunities to go to the Super Bowl are rare in the NFL. You've got to take advantage when you can. I personally don't care for Wade Phillips. I didn't care for some of his snide remarks about Spygate. He doesn't deserve success. There is absolutely no reason the Boys(?) should've lost this one, if they're as loaded with talent as everyone says they are. Local sportswriter Randy Galloway nailed this one: these guys just flat out quit on their coach and their owner. Can't say I blame 'em. They are like sheep without a shepherd right now. Aggie87
Well, the Cowboys defense looked pretty good against the Bucs yesterday. Despite playing with most of their starting secondary out (Newman, Roy Williams, Pacman Jones, and Anthony Henry getting hurt), they didn't give up any big plays to Jeff Garcia. The young guys (Mike Jenkins, Orlando Scandrick, and Alan Ball) played pretty well. They're all going to have to step up their game this week though, heading up to play the NY Football Giants. And the front 7 better pick up the pace and get some pressure on Eli Manning too. Offensively, I don't recall ever seeing a game like this, where the Cowboys manage only 172 yards total offense, and yet come away with a win. Brad Johnson is TERRIBLE. The Bucs D knew he couldn't throw the long ball, so they defended only the short passes and the running game for the most part. That's not going to cut it against the Giants either. I hope Tony Romo is ready to come back early, or that the Cowboys at least consider putting Brooks Bollinger in the game instead of Johnson. At least Bollinger has something of an arm.
