What a game! Congrats Giants fans! I was pulling for Favre, but I love Eli Manning proving me wrong about his character and performing well. Anyone think he had Peyton on the headset?

Is it the first time that two brothers lead as quarterbacks their team to a Super Bowl ?

Not only brothers leading their teams to a super bowl, but back to back years, how about that?

Before Conn mentions it, I'll say that it's fitting for the two clubs who elected not to dog it in Week 17 (and played a memorable game!) to meet in a SB rematch. Dungy and Peyton will be well-rested on their respective couches.

What a game! And what a finish, too! Who'da thought Tynes would nail it from 47 yards after missing two in a row from less than that?

This oughta be one of the best Super Bowls EVER!!! :excited:

Yeah, that one Peyton commercial was great, the one Sangrey mentioned.

I'm hoping for a good game (disclosure: I'm a Jints fan), but one has to expect that, with two weeks to prepare, BB and the NE brain trust will find a way to get into Eli's head. Despite Eli's big postseason breakout...

Maybe they'll pay for a trip for Eli to go to Mexico with a buxom blond starlet..... :w

My worst pro football nightmare has now come true. I'm a lifelong Jets fan who grew up in New York City where most of my relatives and friends that I still have root for the Giants. And I now have to root for the underdog Giants because there's no way I want to see Bill Belichick - "I hereby resign as HC of the NYJ" - and the Patriots win a 4th Supe with an undefeated season no less. I would root for the Taliban over the Pats.:rolleyes:

Not a Pats fan either, but when you see a team on the verge of doing something special like staying undefeated throughout the season and beyond, can't help for rooting for them. Heck when MU did the treble, i pulled for them and i loathe MU. Just hope that once that they retire they don't act lke assholes about it like the 72 Dolphins did

I'm a fan of whichever team plays best (I know, people hate that). So I can't help sitting in awe of what NE has been able to acheive this season and I hope they are able to win the 19th as well.

I also tip my hat to Eli & Tom Coughlin...two guys that have taken more crap over the past few years (sometimes deservedly I admit)...but who seem to have found the right combination this year.

Should be a good game.

I am so beat today.

I went to both Patriots playoff games... first time I've ever done it. Seeing the post game Lamar Hunt AFC Champion trophy presentation live was pretty awesome.

It wasn't as cold in the stadium as I thought it was going to be. But there was someone nearby who ate something that smelled pretty bad when converted to a gas.

On to Arizona!

Go Pats!

My wife returned home just as Favre threw the last interception, I brought her up to speed on the game and then said to her, "watch - after missing before, he'll nail this". :g

I had a hard time deciding who to root for in that game - I wasn't looking forward to two weeks of the brown-nosing of Brett Favre, but I was cured of any rooting interest in the Giants when Eli took over. In the end, considering how close the teams were on the last weekend of the season, this should be a very good Super Bowl - but I think that New England has a better chance of making adjustments that nullify whatever advantage the Giants had in keeping the last game close.

I do know that I'll be more pissed off than I have ever been - I mean, Aaron bleepin Boone pissed off - if Eli leads the Giants to a win and ruins the perfect season.

My wife and I were talking about who we were gonna root for. I'm still undecided, since I don't particularly care for either team and, as happy as I am for the Giants for the stunning upsets they've been pulling on a weekly basis, I am a Cowboys fan so I hate the Giants (don't worry: I hated 'em long before last Sunday's chokefest, and I gave the G-Men their props) :g . Either way, this will be a historical Super Bowl: either the Patriots will accomplish what no team before them has done, or the Giants will pull off the biggest sports upset of all time.

One way or another, I predict people will be talking about this Super Bowl long after the final whistle blows.

I may be rooting for the Giants (ugh!) but realistically I don't see how an 18-0 team can get to this final game before a huge national (and international) audience, with no major injuries, weather presumably not a factor whatsoever, facing a team that did lose 6 times in the regular season including one to the Pats, and somehow blow this opportunity at immortality. Give the Jints their props, be happy that Eli Manning has evolved into a bona fide NFL QB, but realistically......I can't foresee an upset. Still the game has to be played and bigger upsets have occurred (the '80 U.S. amateur hockey team over the Russian pros, for example).

I don't know what it is, but Eli does not have that "knowledgeable look", so I think that would distract him big time. Still looks like a cherub!! :excited:

I would hate to see the Giants win this one. I don't see how the Giants can win this one, most teams have to wait til after their "initiation to the Bowl."

I wish NBC had the Super Bowl, just to watch plastic man Tiki Barber squirm.

I still feel Tiki quit on the Giants. He wasn't hurt bad and he had 2-3 really good years left. But then again, a couple good guys are now getting their turn. Go figure!
