papsrus
Not a single player from the NFC South (probably deservedly so, but there isn't one somewhere!?) and only one player from the three Florida squads ... 1-13 Miami's Jason Taylor. That kinda surprises me, since it's not just a popularity contest. If it was only fan voting that determined the Pro Bowl rosters, I could see that happening. But since players & coaches also have an equal say, you'd think there would be more respect given to Jacksonville, for instance. They could do some damage in the playoffs, assuming they get in. But they are pretty workmanlike in the way they go about it. Not too much highlight reel stuff. But that defense has to have somebody. Same with the Bucs. I believe Tampa has the No. 3 ranked defense in the league and No. 2 passing defense. ... Then again, they do play in the NFC South. But come to think of it, the AFC East ain't exactly tough either. papsrus
It's a crime that Fred Taylor wasn't selected...he's had (many) pro bowl worthy seasons. Agreed. They probably skip over him figuring he'll be injured anyways ...

Hope everyone from the Cowboys go! However, it is a great advantage to have your team's coach go to the Pro Bowl. Belichick coached the AFC team last year and bonded with Adalius Thomas, who eventually signed a contract to play with the team this offseason. Aggie87
T.O. to Simpson: Back off Cowboys WR says pop star affecting Romo's focus IRVING, Texas (AP) -- Terrell Owens has a message for Jessica Simpson: Stay away. Simpson has become Public Enemy No. 1 among Dallas Cowboys fans because of a link being made between her appearance at Sunday's game and the poor performance of her new boyfriend, quarterback Tony Romo. "Right now, Jessica Simpson is not a fan favorite -- in this locker room or in Texas Stadium," Owens said Wednesday. The Cowboys lost 10-6 to the Philadelphia Eagles and Romo had what was statistically the worst game of his career, all while Simpson sat in a luxury box wearing a pink No. 9 jersey she proudly showed off for television cameras. The problem for her is, Romo's previous worst game came last December at home to the Eagles when then-girlfriend Carrie Underwood was in attendance. "With everything that has happened, obviously with the way Tony played and the comparison between her and Carrie Underwood, I think a lot of people feel she has taken his focus away," Owens said, echoing the chatter on sports-talk radio and blogs. "Other than that, she was high on my list until last week. "Oh, I got a message for her when we make the playoffs. Just stay tuned." Jessica Simpson rooted for Tony Romo at Texas Stadium during the Cowboys' loss to the Eagles last Sunday.

Tim McG
I hope Jessica goes to every game from here on into the first round of the playoffs. After that, we won't need her to show up anymore.
Free For All
Wow, I find it hard to swallow (pun intended) that Simpson's presence at the game was a primary reason for Romo's poor performance. If that was the case then he's not the player I thought he was. And I was wondering when we would start hearing from TO again. I really thought Dallas was the real deal and had predicted a NE/Dallas Superbowl, but I'm not so sure now. What a difference a couple weeks make! Looks like the meltdown has commenced. It will be interesting to see how many teams experience this phenomenon.

He's a gunslinger, like Favre, so he's bound to have an erratic game here and there. I hope that's all that this was. I hope the team isn't having it's usual December meltdown. I think if Romo bounces back from his very sub-par performance, the team will be fine. If he's getting that distracted by all the trappings of celebrity, then I'd worry. So far, he seems to have handled it well, for the most part.
Free For All
He's a gunslinger, like Favre, so he's bound to have an erratic game here and there. I agree, I really didn't think much about it at the time, you know, he just had a bad day and an injured thumb. It's all this BS after the fact- yes, much of it speculation by the media and fans, but then TO steps up to the mic............ STFU TO!!! JSngry
Hmmm... I'm kinda w/TO on this one, as long as this is as far as it goes, and as long as the message to Jessica post-playoffs is something complementing her sexy mother%&#$in' ass. Or something like that. As for the Eagles, hey - like Detroit the week before, Philly is not an untalented team, and they've been playing like wounded dogs pretty much all season long. For whatever reason, the Cowboys mistook the wounded dog for an old family pet and ended up getting bit in the ass. I expected soemthing like this to happen against either Green Bay, Detroit, or Philly. Philly it was. Now, if Romo really is the "Jedi Master" that all the local fanboys - one of whom I am most assuredly not - are making him out to be, then it'll be wake the phukk up, get back on track, and get it done from here on out. Sincerely hope that that's what happens, but we'll just have to wait and see, won't we...
Aggie87
Now, if Romo really is the "Jedi Master" that all the local fanboys - one of whom I am most assuredly not - are making him out to be... I don't know if he's all that, but he *IS* a 2 time Pro Bowler, with less than two full seasons worth of starts. That's gotta count for something! I think he's worth being a fan of. Especially after years of: Randall Cunningham (2000) Quincy Carter (2001-2003) Clint Stoerner (2001) Ryan Leaf (2001) Chad Hutchinson (2002-2003) Vinny Testaverde (2004) Drew Henson (2004) Drew Bledsoe (2005-06)
JSngry
Yeah, I hear ya', I've just begun to grow weary of the casualness withwhich the word "great" gets tossed about, not just in sports (and muci), but just in life in general. And I'm hearing "Romo" & "great" in the same sentence a lot these days. I mean hell - Sonny Rollins is great. Roger Staubach was great. Joe Lovano is damn good, & Romo's yet to prove anything except that he's damn good, with the potential to be great. Don't get me wrong - "damn good" is quite an accomplishment in and of itself, not too many folk get there. But great, hey, great is a whole 'nother place altogether. I dunno man, this "great" thing...too much great is no great at all.

Aggie87
I can't wait to see that jackass TO go sideways on Romo and blow up the team chemistry Well, not only did he not go sideways, he actually apologized to Romo. It was all a joke. After a media firestorm was created with his comments about Tony Romo's girlfriend, Jessica Simpson, being a distraction, Terrell Owens said he was joking and that he's sorry. Owens, speaking before the Mavericks-Suns game at the American Airlines Center on Wednesday night, said he apologized to Romo for all the confusion and added that he wants to speak to Simpson as well. Before Cowboys practice on Wednesday afternoon, Owens said Simpson was a problem for Romo. "Right now, Jessica Simpson is not a fan favorite in this locker room or in Texas Stadium," Owens said. I don't think he was joking, though. But he *did* apologize to Romo, which suggests a far better relationship than T.O. had with Garcia & McNabb. Maybe he's grown up in the last year or two, just a little (emphasis on little).
Noj
Not to speak in T.O.'s defense, but having seen Jeff Garcia in interviews I must say he seems the most unlikely person to be a quarterback. He seems a bit "wimpy." And yet, he's a pretty damned good quarterback.
