Nice late timeout call the Mile High zebras awarded the Broncos to nullify a game-winning 52-yard field goal by Janikowski. Are you ready for some cheatball? :rmad:

Noj, I was rootin' for your guys to win that one. I heard whistles before the kick so I assume the TO was called in time, but I felt sorry for Janikowski nonetheless. What a MF mindf*ck!

Definititely seemed like a home field gift for Shanahan.

Janikowski should have made it the second time too. Still, a 52-yarder, that's no gimme.

I don't think the defense should be given that sort of demand with time outs. Either call it early enough to stop the snap of the ball, or the refs should ignore a defensive team in that situation. I know I've seen them ignore coaches in that situation in the past, or maybe they just ignore the Raiders. But hey, it was in Denver so Shanahan gets whatever his little elvish heart desires and the ball gets spotted an extra 12 inches every time the home team runs the ball. I hate the NFL.

What Shanahan did was completely within the rules. A few years ago they gave coaches the right to call timeouts from the sideline, what they usually do is call the ref over and let them know that they'll be calling a timeout "at the last second" prior to the snap. As long as they gave the ref the heads up that the timeout is coming, they are granted the timeout. What Shanahan did was the new millennium version of "icing the kicker"...and in this case it worked. I still think it's kind of shitty, but there is no cheating involved.

I don't want to hear that kind of good reasoned argument, I'm trying to whine here. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll continue to wallow in the agony of Raider fandom. :rcry

the 9'ers were very impressive in a loss to the steelers.

they are well coached. when they get a qb with an arm, they will be a playoff team

Alex Smith needs to find another line of work.

Capt. Happy Feet has no business being in the NFL.

Secondary sucks, too.

Oh well...it was fun while it lasted.

Grrrrrr

Not a very exciting SNF game between the Bears & Cowboys. It's 3-3 at the half.

I do think the Cowboys have had a couple of bad calls though - Witten got called for blocking in the back, and clearly wasn't hitting the guy in the back. T.O. got an offensive pass interference call, and I still can't tell where there was interference. And worst of all, there should have been 3 seconds left on the clock at the end of the half, with the Cowboys having the ball and a chance for a Hail Mary, but the refs disagreed and called it halftime.

Hopefully a better second half is ahead of us.

That's why they play all 4 quarters, Cowboys kicking MAJOR ass the entire second half. It's 27-10 right now and the Boys are on the 1 yard line.

The Boys game was actually a great defensive display by both teams until that second half started. Grossman sure ain't having a very good night, that's for sure.

I would never have guessed the Boys would be 3-0 to start the season. They're doing well; let's hope it lasts!

Aren't you the same guy who hated Jerry Jones last year? :P

(PS - I wasn't a fan of the T.O. signing either - but he's been a relative boy scout this season, compared to last year under Parcells. That attempted suicide thing seems like a long time ago now!)

Oh, I still hate Jerry Jones. :g But I don't hold that against the players. ;)

And what can I say about TO? He's finally walking the walk. Finally! But, in the words of the immortal Sweets, "Let's find out what's gonna happen!"

I want me some of them Eagles throwback unis.

Not.

Who the hell thought that these colors looked good, when they appeared on my screen, i started to fiddle with the colors on my telly.

The colors themselves go together ok, and the uni design by itself is ok, in an old-school kinda way.

But not together. My god - not together.
