Soulstation1 Posted April 9, 2007 Report Posted April 9, 2007 i can't wait for the suns to lose in the play-offs..... Amare could be the X factor, he's been playin' some ball.... Quote
Noj Posted April 9, 2007 Report Posted April 9, 2007 Smush has been so miserable on the court lately, if I were Phil he'd play about 12 minutes a game to give Farmar and Shammond a rest. The Lakers desperately need a point guard with the ability to distribute the ball and not turn it over. Quote
Guy Berger Posted April 9, 2007 Author Report Posted April 9, 2007 Does anybody else follow John Hollinger's power rankings? I wonder whether we should take them seriously. I suppose we'll find out in the post season. (The Spurs are #1 by a large margin.) Guy Quote
Guy Berger Posted April 10, 2007 Author Report Posted April 10, 2007 Warriors tied with the Clips for 8th place!* Only two games behind the Lakers! *But Clips have the tiebreaker. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 fakers keep failing down the play-off seedings........ they are better off, getting into the lottery for a big man they have no business in the play-offs and will be lucky if they win 1 game My MVP Pick - Dirk __________________________ My Official MVP is a tie Flash = 1st half MVP Shaq = 2nd half MVP Quote
Noj Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 Lakers can't buy a win. They've plunged to a new level of suckitude lately. Quote
Guy Berger Posted April 10, 2007 Author Report Posted April 10, 2007 (edited) Top 10 Shawn Kemp Dunks of All Time I thought #3 and #2 were pretty spectacular. Guy Edit: My brother wrote the following commentary on the clip: I’m not certain which of the following made me more excited while watching it: 1. Apparently celebratory dances and taunts weren’t illegal back then, because Kemp put on some nice post-dunk performances. 2. 3 of the top 5, including the top 2, were against old school Golden State Warriors teams. 3. People getting dunked on then going to Kemp and congratulating him on totally and utterly owning them. 4. One of the dunks includes the following announcer call: “And Kemp is all over that rebound like a bad suit”. There are a ton of sweet calls in these highlights, actually. Noj Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 Filthy! Pointing at Danny Manning in the aftermath was uncalled for. Quote
Bright Moments Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 April 11, 2007 MIAMI (AP) -- Following a season filled with injuries and turmoil, the Miami Heat know that at least one new championship banner will hang over their home court next season. Antoine Walker scored 19 points and took two crucial charges late in the fourth quarter, Dwyane Wade added 16 points, seven assists and six rebounds, and the Heat wrapped up the Southeast Division title with an 85-82 victory over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night. The win assures the defending NBA champion Heat no worse than the fourth seed for the Eastern Conference playoffs Quote
Guy Berger Posted April 13, 2007 Author Report Posted April 13, 2007 (edited) Nobody here's commented on this, I don't think, but: 76ers record with AI in the lineup: 5-10 76ers record since AI/Andre Miller trade: 27-26 This is actually a decent team. Somebody predicted the AI-AM trade would make the 76ers much better when the trade happened. In fact, that guy predicted that the 76ers would finish 35-47! Moral of the story: replacing a chucker with a good point guard is good for your team. Guy Edited April 13, 2007 by Guy Quote
Patrick Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 and some folks around here -_- As Rick Majerus pointed out the other night, there is no "I" in "team", but there is in "Iverson". Count me among the non-fans. I think Philly did well in the trade, and maybe if Melo/AI work out in Denver it will be a mutually beneficial trade. Quote
Noj Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 Except...the Nuggets have been playing good ball lately, with Iverson shooting a good percentage. Quote
Guy Berger Posted April 13, 2007 Author Report Posted April 13, 2007 (edited) THE LAKERS Personally I enjoy seeing them lose, but they needed to beat the Clips to help the Warriors' chances. Moral of the story: never root for "The Little Satan" again. Guy ps Props to Patrick for calling the AI/AM trade way-back-when. Edited April 13, 2007 by Guy Quote

Guy Berger Posted April 15, 2007 Author Report Posted April 15, 2007 Gilbert Arenas can't be bothered to watch his own team's games. Guy Quote
Jim R Posted April 15, 2007 Report Posted April 15, 2007 Damn... I had to miss it, but the W's led by as much as 42 (in the 3rd Q) today against the KG-less T-Wolves, and coasted to a 13 point win. Clips LOSE! I gotta go see if FSN is gonna replay this one. Lakers play the Sonics tonight, and they're in serious danger of dropping to the 8th spot... Although we've owned the Mavs lately, I'm not sure I want to finish in 8th and play them... the match-up on Tuesday will be interesting. Quote

Although we've owned the Mavs lately, I'm not sure I want to finish in 8th and play them... the match-up on Tuesday will be interesting. The only minus about this excellent day (which will of course get better if the Lakers lose tonight) is that the Spurs lost, locking the Suns into the 2nd spot and giving them no incentive to play hard against the Clips on Tuesday night. We're SO CLOSE, but not quite there yet. Guy Quote
Jim R Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 I hear you... Dallas will be tough to beat regardless of previous meetings, and we just haven't played well at Portland. The more I think about it, though, I want the 8th spot- not the 7th. We're capable of beating the Suns now and then, but we're better off going to war against the Mavs (...but I'm NOT going to start counting my chickens just yet ) Quote

Guy Berger Posted April 16, 2007 Author Report Posted April 16, 2007 WTF is up wit' B Diddy's beard? Isn't it strange that he's the cartoon in Gilbert Arenas's commercial? (Am I the only one who's noticed that?) Guy Quote
