Jim R Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 Nice win by the Warriors last night -- they are definitely playing like a team headed toward a crappy lottery spot. They've looked pretty vulnerable lately without Baron. They were really pretty lucky last night, to pull it out with Biedrins and Harrington fouled out at the end. That guy who took the final 3 attempt got an awfully good look. Guy, what do you think of Harrington and Jackson so far? My main concern is that they seem to have too much ego at times at the offensive end (trying to do it all themselves, especially late in the 4th). Sometimes we look like the Golden State Pacers out there, if you know what I mean. Sarunas looked pretty bad last night during his extended minutes. Hopefully that was just an off night for him. Aggie87 Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 Great end to the Spurs/Magic game last night too, with an incredible dunk off an inbounds pass with 0.8 seconds left in the game. Although I think the Spurs should have been given more than 0.2 seconds to work with after that play, I'm not sure they could have made a good shot either way. Quote
Guy Berger Posted February 11, 2007 Author Report Posted February 11, 2007 Nice win by the Warriors last night -- they are definitely playing like a team headed toward a crappy lottery spot. They've looked pretty vulnerable lately without Baron. They were really pretty lucky last night, to pull it out with Biedrins and Harrington fouled out at the end. That guy who took the final 3 attempt got an awfully good look. Yes, they miss Baron. Guy, what do you think of Harrington and Jackson so far? My main concern is that they seem to have too much ego at times at the offensive end (trying to do it all themselves, especially late in the 4th). On the one hand, collectively they are more consistent than Murphleavy and that's a good thing. On the other hand, the team hasn't been playing any better since they joined. I agree with you that they tend to dominate the ball too much. Sometimes that's a good thing, sometimes that's a bad thing. Harrington is a better shooter, but also a black hole for the ball. (And did you see that bonehead half courter???) Jackson is aggressive offensively which is great but also something of a chucker. I'd much rather have the ball in either guy's hands than in Murphleavy's late in the game. Sometimes we look like the Golden State Pacers out there, if you know what I mean. Sarunas looked pretty bad last night during his extended minutes. Hopefully that was just an off night for him. Well, Sarunas is a backup point guard and he's been performing adequately. I'd be ecstatic if this team started playing as well as the Pacers. Guy Quote
Patrick Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 Impressive win my Cavs on Friday night as well. Didn't let Wade take over the game by double teaming early in the shot clock. Got out and ran a bit. Won despite a tough night of shooting for Ilgauskus and Gooden. LeBron gets clocked by Zo and no foul gets called. Pretty sure if was Z and Wade there would be a parade to the foul line. (Difference is Wade would make both of them, James wouldn't). Next up LAL at the Q. Hopefully the home team can establish a winning streak for these nationally televised games. [Had lost five in a row] Quote
Jim R Posted February 11, 2007 Report Posted February 11, 2007 did you see that bonehead half courter???) Yeah, that was dumb. At least he hit back rim. I'd be ecstatic if this team started playing as well as the Pacers. I haven't really been following Indy since the trade. Anyway, my "Golden State Pacers" comment was meant in terms of us not quite being one unit yet (especially when two or more of the new guys are on the floor). I get the feeling that all three of the ex-Pacers would rather try to make a play themselves than trust their new teammates. There were a couple of fast breaks where Jasekevicius didn't make the (obvious) correct pass, and tried to take it to the tin himself. Jackson and Harrington have each already had at least one big scoring night, and it seems like Nelson is giving them quite a bit of slack when they're not playing well. Quote

Patrick Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 It boggles the mind, as does starting Smush Parker and contending at the same time. Quote
Guy Berger Posted February 16, 2007 Author Report Posted February 16, 2007 The Pistons have a nice little 7 game winning streak going, then they face one of the better western conference team and SNAP. Guy Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 They weren't really in it until the end. They played lazy. I think they're psyching people out. Quote

Guy Berger Posted February 18, 2007 Author Report Posted February 18, 2007 I'm a fan of Steve Kerr's commentary, Charles Barkley is pretty good. Is Charles really going to race Dick Bavetta? "A 67 year old can't outrun me!" I'd pay to watch that. Guy Apparently Barkley and Bavetta's race is on. Quote
