I like the whole thing, and since it's on CD I don't really think of it in halves.

I also like alot of Kid A & Amnesiac. I think if you took the best bits from those two, you could make one helluva great album.

It's weird that you brought this up; I was listening the other day and thought "this would've been a great album for the vinyl era" and i suppose it has a Dark Side feel about it all. So side 1 for me. The latter part of the album is very good but the sublime moments happen thick and fast through the 30 minutes.

We moved into out present house the month this disc came out and I listened intently, at night, darkened room etc...etc.. for months of that very wet, tiring spring. It became part of the furniture and fabric and hearing the album again draws me back to that half way house of sleep and consciousness that night-workers experience.

Stirring stuff.

I love all their albums since, Kid A is a real high point for me since they abandoned the heavy side of their arsenal.

Right. And I responded by saying it's available on vinyl, so it can be broken down into sides.

So. Just to clarify. It is available on vinyl.

Speaking of "Ok Computer" (the only Radiohead album I own, although I would like to get more), the Easy Star All-Stars, authors of the excellent "Dub Side of the Moon" album, have just released a reggae version titled "Radiodread." Campy title aside, this is an EXCELLENT album if, like me, you dig "Ok Computer" and reggae music. The highlight, for me, is Toots and the Maytals amazing version of "Let Down," although the whole disc is fantasic. If you liked "Dub Side," you'll love this one.

Double 10" vinyl, IIRC!

Haven't voted yet, cuz I want to listen to the album again first before I do.

But I'll go ahead and mention that about 80% of the time I hear this album - I truely think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

But oddly enough, the other 20% of the time - I can't figure out why I love of so much the other 80% of the time.

Picked this up yesterday on my lunch hour, have spun it nearly three times since then (and it's spinning a fourth time as I'm typing this), and I can report that this disc is nothing short of fantastic. :tup:tup:tup:tup:tup

Obviously a labor of love, and nearly as intricate as the original -- with LOTS of subtleties in the arrangements that play homage to the original. And best of all, almost none of it seems campy or cheezy. A very heartfelt project, extremely well done. (Did I mention how much I like it?? :g )

Seriously, all kidding aside, anyone who has and likes OK Computer really should consider getting this new version as well.

Several times I've heard OK Computer called "the 'Dark Side Of the Moon' for this era" or some such. This makes me not want to get it, as I've always loathed Dark Side. Never understood why it became such an icon as it's such a lousy album. Maybe it's a 'have to listen to it stoned' thing.

:o

This is the first time in my life I've ever heard "Dark Side of the Moon" called a "lousy album"!!

I don't think there's any similarity between Dark Side and OK Computer other than they are both concept albums from British rock bands.
