mikeweil
This evening's delight: a rare pure Marselan from Southern France: The Primitivo mentioned above was a little disappointing, tasty and full, but not as complex as I would have expected from a wine from that grape variety at € 10 a bottle. The Marselan at € 5 was a nice surprise, fresh and fruity, with a taste of cherries and smoky overtones.

I play soccer with a lot of Portuguese guys, so I decided to get a better Portuguese wine. Yesterday night I got a bottle of this, and had some of it with a taco ground beef that I mixed with barley kasha. Was good. Finished it off today, without any food. On its own though, not a great drinking wine. Too intense. Would be nice with a rack of lamb. Edited December 30, 2016 by Dmitry
