Blue Train Posted November 6, 2013 Report Posted November 6, 2013 Anyone in the Brooklyn area that likes ice cream and beer. A friend sent me this. Odd Fellows Ice Cream and Brooklyn Brewery combined to create a limited edition beer sundae. http://www.realfood-dudes.com/2013/10/oddly-obsessed-with-oddfellows-beer.html Quote
Jerry_L Posted November 7, 2013 Report Posted November 7, 2013 (edited) A real nice sippin' beer! BA categorizes this as an English Strong Ale. It's not hoppy like American Strong Ales, such as Arrogant Bastard. I find it easier to drink than AB, YMMV. Edited November 7, 2013 by Jerry_L Quote
Jerry_L Posted November 7, 2013 Report Posted November 7, 2013 Son's very first Halloween. He has no idea WTF? was going on @ his age....but he kicks and punches in rhythm to the music. He was a very very very Young Elvis. All the parents made it out alive. Looks tasty, haven't seen it in my area. Of course, I've already got enough pumpkin ale on hand to last me well through Thanksgiving, by which time I'll have had my fill for this year. Quote
Blue Train Posted November 7, 2013 Report Posted November 7, 2013 They added a new one to the Balvenie lineup. It's replacing their 15-year Single Barrel. It's been getting a lot of hype. These are from first fill ex-Bourbon barrels....and each bottle comes from a single cask, which means there is going to be some differences in taste from cask to cask....and @ 47.8% it's basically cask strength. It's an okay light Single Malt. It's nowhere as good as the the one it's replacing. Quote

Jerry_L Posted November 12, 2013 Report Posted November 12, 2013 Schlafly Pumpkin Ale - This is the closest to liquid pumpkin pie I've yet had. Wouldn't drink it out of season, but it delivers what it promises. Quote

Leeway Posted November 13, 2013 Report Posted November 13, 2013 Over the summer I got into drinking shandies. They really are more of a summer drink I suppose, but I like some with spicy Chinese food and BBQ burgers. Faves so far are the shandies made by Traveller and Saranac. Quote
