A Lark Ascending Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 Speaking of bready beer, I've had this twice... It's not as gimicky as I feared. The banana isn't overpowering either in the scent or the taste. I liked it enough to have it a second time. I'm not sure I need to drink it again, though I would definitely take another pint if it were on tap somewhere. I recommend giving it a shot just in case it turns out to really float your boat. I would approach it as one might a seasonal pumpkin beer... keep your excitement in check until after you've started drinking. I drink that quite often. This 'flavoured' beer is good too: A slight licorice taste. Quote

Wallet on the bar, a shot in one hand and a can of beer in the other. Quote
Man with the Golden Arm Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 I like PBR as well. Hey, I must be a hipster and I didn't even know it! last eve i drunk a pbr, so it must be hopelessly out of fashion. I had a draught PBR a couple nights ago as the wallet was tight and the keg musta been dead but you really can't send back a PBR for tasting a bit off now, can you? Freekin' made Corona seem like beer. OTOH I had some tap Oskar Blues Old Chub the weekend before and it was outstanding!!! I need more!!!:tup Quote

Aggie87 Posted May 17, 2011 Report Posted May 17, 2011 (edited) Has anybody ever tried absinthe? The real stuff, which includes wormwood. I had a taste on my overseas trip a couple of weeks ago, definitely a strong anise-flavor to it. Just wondering what other's experience with "the green fairy" has been. alocispepraluger102 Posted July 10, 2011 Author Report Posted July 10, 2011 why did i buy a 6er of this highly rated stout? it finishes beautifully, goes down really well, masks the alcohol well, and is considered one of the very best stouts in the world, and still SUCKS. Quote
Dave James Posted July 10, 2011 Report Posted July 10, 2011 An OK Old Vine California Zinfandel incorporating the contributions of seven different vintners operating under the aegis of Seven Deadly Zins. In my immediate future I see a Bombay Sapphire dirty martini or two. Stirred not shaken. Quote
Chicago Expat Posted July 10, 2011 Report Posted July 10, 2011 A lot of Shiner Ruby Redbird. It's a summer ale, has a hint of grapefruit, and it very refreshing. I'm not much of a summer ale guy, but this one totally floats my boat. Though it still comes in second place behind Buffalo Bill Brewing Company's Orange Blossom beer, maybe the most refreshing summer beer I've ever had. Quote
jeffcrom Posted July 23, 2011 Report Posted July 23, 2011 Allagash Curieux - a strong ale aged in bourbon whiskey barrels. It's pretty wonderful, and goes great with Eddie Johnson on the stereo. Quote
