jeffcrom Posted October 10, 2010 Report Posted October 10, 2010 Bell's Expedition Stout, mentioned by alocispepraluger102 back in April, 2007. I thought about using the word "hearty" to describe this beer, but that's an understatement. If you turned the glass upside down and took it away, I think this beer would stand up by itself. Quote
kinuta Posted October 10, 2010 Report Posted October 10, 2010 My own concoction, Korean ginseng powder, Bulgarian yogurt, soy milk- a really nice creamy kind that I've only ever seen in Japan- and orange juice. Quote
Dave James Posted October 10, 2010 Report Posted October 10, 2010 Patrone. With some rock salt and a slice of lime. Got into taking a shot in the evenings when I was in Hawaii. 100% agave. It's a good thing. Quote

Chicago Expat Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 (edited) southern tier imperial mokah-a beer for the ages southern tier imperial stout OMFG... "the delicate subtle smell of a chocolate brownie", are you serious? If true, that's bad news for my liver. Speaking of bready beer, I've had this twice... It's not as gimicky as I feared. The banana isn't overpowering either in the scent or the taste. I liked it enough to have it a second time. I'm not sure I need to drink it again, though I would definitely take another pint if it were on tap somewhere. I recommend giving it a shot just in case it turns out to really float your boat. I would approach it as one might a seasonal pumpkin beer... keep your excitement in check until after you've started drinking. Edited January 31, 2011 by Chicago Expat Quote

Chicago Expat Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 check out a superb new holland ichabod pumpkin ale this fall. I'm pretty sure I've never had that Ichabod before. I've had some New Holland before, but I'm failing to think of which ones. The pumpkin beer that I enjoyed the last two seasons is from Schlafly. Quote
mikelz777 Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 I'm starting a little early today: Cheap, unpretentious, very drinkable and it does the trick. Busch is serving as a fine accompaniment to some great country / traditional music this morning/afternoon. Quote

Actually, the hipsters are starting to shift from PBR to Busch, so you might want to move on to a different unpretentious beer (hey, nice smilies you got on this site) I've moved on to the tea portion of my day. Currently drinking... Quote
