JSngry Posted August 19, 2006 Report Posted August 19, 2006 Yeah, the notes are wrong, but aren't they always, in some form or fashion? Quote
JSngry Posted August 19, 2006 Author Report Posted August 19, 2006 Yeah, I hate it when robots do that. Quote
Dan Gould Posted August 19, 2006 Report Posted August 19, 2006 Damn ... if only my BFT were scheduled for next month. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted August 19, 2006 Report Posted August 19, 2006 Have they posted any alternates yet? Quote

scottb Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 (edited) Someone actually responded to that video by commenting that the robot really nailed Coltrane's tone! Edited August 21, 2006 by scottb Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 Nailed is not exactly the word I would select. Quote
Free For All Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 I wonder what this monstrosity sounds like? Guess I'd better hang on to that Domino's application. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 Can I help filling in the details? Quote
catesta Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 No soul Exactly. Too bad they didn't program bass, drum, and piano machines to go with it. Quote
JSngry Posted August 21, 2006 Author Report Posted August 21, 2006 You guys are upset by this? Not me! I'm envisioning a day when Trane Clonedom will be rendered a non-viable option for living musicians wanting to ply their craft in public. Imagine a day when some punk shows up to play, knowing every damn Trane lick backwards and forwards - and little if anything else (especially soul) - and being able to tell them, in all honesty & sincerity, "Sorry, Jack, but they got machines that can do that just as good and for a helluva lot less. Come back when you got something original to offer." I hope I live to see the day! Quote
Harold_Z Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 DEEP emailed me this clip about a week or two ago. I laughed MAO when I opened the email. Quote

Maybe hundreds of thousands of folks need to die first. Quote

Teasing the Korean Posted February 13, 2007 Report Posted February 13, 2007 At least the robot doesn't have a ponytail and wear a goofy hat. Quote
mikeweil Posted February 13, 2007 Report Posted February 13, 2007 (edited) I prefer their ad-campaign from the early 90s... "Blow me some Trane" - wasn't that what JB shouted to his saxist on "Super Bad"? Edited February 13, 2007 by mikeweil Quote
