Quincy
One set that I've been on the fence about is the Bix, Tram & Teagarden. Years ago I found a cutout 4 disc JSP J. R. T. Davis set of Bix & Tram for very cheap. It's just not quite enough of Bix & Tram for me, though so far I've made do. Aside from the possibility of better sound, the thing that really pushes me towards buying this is the inclusion of the Teagarden. On the other hand I could probably track down a Classic or 2 that would have the same Teagarden material (guessing, I haven't really checked.) Hmm....decisions decisions. After spending far too much on cheap Concords, do I dare buy a $112 Mosaic to save $11? Hmm.... "Pushes" are welcome, as we're early into the month. Quincy
You fellas don't fart around! Not that I'd ever think y'all would. The Venuti & Lang is another I'm curious about. I doubt I have 45 minutes of music from them and I like what I have. Big jump into the deep end of the pool from that to the Mosaic. Appreciate your thoughts as you start to explore it. Kyo
Time for me to get off the fence and finally order the Donaldson AND the Turrentine set. And damn, throw some Tolliver in there as well! Can't wait to hear all this stuff! Edited August 10, 2006 by Kyo

tranemonk
I'm going to ignore that last comment... But I found the Sarah set to be very uneven... Some great stuff and some stuff they really could have left out.. 1 The Complete Roulette Sarah Vaughan Studio Sessions (#214) Item: 214-MD-CD Price: $115.20 Ship Via: DOMESTIC SHIPPING $115.20 Sarah Vaughan makes me cry. The Magnificent Goldberg
Got my eye on the Stitt and Donaldson. Must resist... I've got all but five or six tracks of the Donaldson, so I find it desperately easy to resist. But it's all absolutely lovely stuff, if you don't have too much of the material already. paul secor
Been thinking about the Capitol Jazz set for a while. I have the feeling that there's too much superfluous material on it for me, but I guess if there's ever a time to pull the trigger, this month is it. Ah well - 20 more days to decide .... Van Basten II
Thanks guys, unfotunately i learned about Mosaic too late, there is a whole lot stuff that is not available anymore that i would have gladly bought. I think it will take me at least two or three months of listening before going through all that stuff, i'm going to do what i usually do which is watching Footy and listening to my music at the same time. What seemed to me to be the giveaway was the time he joined 2.35 AM my time. Of course, he COULD have stayed up late to unwrap his Mosaics.
