Son-of-a-Weizen
Saw this pop-up on eBay. Despite the fact that Schildkraut & Joe Wilder are on board, I find myself always fast forwarding through most of the first larger group session ('Basically Duke') in order to get to 'Happy Minor' (tracks 7-13) w/Mitchell/Sims/Brookmeyer/Candoli/Williamson/Levey. Anyone else? I wish Bethlehem would just reissue the Mitchell as a stand alone disc...they just don't pair up well imo. Maybe it's out as an LP in Japan? http://cgi.ebay.com/RED-MITCHELL-HAPPY-MIN...1QQcmdZViewItem
brownie
The Red Mitchell date with Zoot Sims and Claude Williamson was issued on Affinity. It was paired with another Bethlehem session by Stan Levey with Zoot, Conte Candoli, Jimmy Giuffre, etc... The Affinity vinyl came under the title 'West Coast Rhythm'.
