Bright Moments Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 that herbie man album happens to be a good one. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 I've previously seen more of those covers than I choose to disclose. Quote
Noj Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 Some of you have showered me with accollades for this album cover, but all I can see is what I wish I could improve. Maybe Jim, Joe, and Randy will let me do a special collector's edition with a redesigned album cover. Quote

Dave James Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 (edited) Noj, It looks like you stored your Organissimo CD in a bag of potato chips. I ask you, is that any way to treat righteous B-3 music? I'm thinkin' there may be an ulterior motive for your request to consider a redesigned special collector's edition Up over and out. .:.impossible Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 it is a napkin isn't it! i always thought it was a matchbook! i do like the greaze though... what would you do differently? Quote
Uncle Skid Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 I've previously seen more of those covers than I choose to disclose. The first time I read this thread (and looked at the album covers page), I was thinking you had written "I've previously owned more of those covers than I choose to disclose.". Quote
Parkertown Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 It looks like "the Nuge" is yawning on his cover... Quote
Noj Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 it is a napkin isn't it! i always thought it was a matchbook! i do like the greaze though... what would you do differently? I made some rather amateurish decisions with the resolution and adjustment of the images. Live and learn. Quote
Hot Ptah Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 Here is a link to a directory of numerous sites with questionable album art, and album art of many other types: http://www.bitlounge.net/retrolounge/music_links.swf Quote
robviti Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 (edited) oh my god! i performed with this guy a few times in newport, r.i. in the mid-70s! sweet pie used to perform these dirty songs (I seem to remember one called iF yoU C Kay) wearing nothing but a tiny g-string, even in the dead of winter. he was foul, crazy, and very funny. at least i thought so at age 19. i didn't know he had two records on the esp label. buy, i haven't thought about him for years! sidewinder Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 Looks like Jethro Tull on a bad day ! Quote
Dan Gould Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 Now how can that be "questionable cover art" when it contains such a good lesson for happy living? Quote

Kalo Posted July 29, 2006 Report Posted July 29, 2006 And I thought I hated jazz flute BEFORE I saw that Herbie Mann cover. Anyone else think that the guy on the far right of the Country Church cover looks like Lester Bangs? Wouldn't it make more sense for Pooh Man to be called "Poon Man" given his album's cover art? On the other hand, I think the Redd Foxx cover is perfectly appropriate. And I mean that in a good way. Quote
Kalo Posted July 29, 2006 Report Posted July 29, 2006 I dig the Organissimo cover myself. Though I might have given the napkin a slightly jauntier jog rightwards. Quote
Kalo Posted July 29, 2006 Report Posted July 29, 2006 Now that's truly horrifying. Not just the unicorns, mind you, but the reflection of the "inner child" to top it off. Bet he scored some pussy at the ashram. Quote
Chas Posted July 29, 2006 Report Posted July 29, 2006 (edited) What have we here ? a) A none too attractive chippie made even less toothsome by a severe case of cyanosis ? b) a heretofore unknown Hindu goddess ? c) a proto-smurfette ? d) art design by the colorblind ? Should have been titled , " I've Got Blue Under My Skin ".... EDIT: Fixed broken image link . Edited January 14, 2007 by Chas Quote
ep1str0phy Posted August 2, 2006 Report Posted August 2, 2006 (edited) Someone has to tally how many random message board threads have been devoted to these things... (still, though--that Auld cover is truly terrifying) Edited August 2, 2006 by ep1str0phy Quote
