chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez Posted July 21, 2006 Author Report Posted July 21, 2006 yes but im talkin about as a stand alone single issue- Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 Ah well. I see what you mean. I was very glad when "The phantom" came out last year - it saved me having to buy the Mosaic. MG Quote
sidewinder Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 Wasn't this one issued on CD in the US as a Collectors Choice or Rare Groove? In any event, I have such a copy (will check later). Quote
Kyo Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 Isn't this included in the Pearson Mosaic Select? To contradict the above answer, it's NOT part of the Mosaic Select set. Quote
jazzbo Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 (edited) It was a Japanese RVG and it was a US cd as well. You can buy a copy on half.com last time I looked. EDIT: Just looked and it's not available currently, someone bought the copies I saw a few weeks ago. The US cd had extra material. Show a little respect chewy. . ."stop bein' a litle bitch" is so childish. . .oh wait, I forgot who I was talking to. Edited July 21, 2006 by jazzbo Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 It's a great session. I've got it on JRVG mini-lp. Had the domestic version years ago and "upgraded." Quote
Dan Gould Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 Show a little respect chewy. . ."stop bein' a litle bitch" is so childish. . .oh wait, I forgot who I was talking to. Chewy doesn't show respect. Kevin announced the passing of his Father and all that jackass could say was some shit about his working for the phone company, and did he ever see some such type of equipment. He's an ass and doesn't have an ounce of human decency. Quote
Parkertown Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 What's the extra material on the domestic cd? Quote
jazzbo Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 Just an alternate of the Hombres track. For a few minutes I thought it was also some of the previously unreleased material that appeared on the cd of "I Don't Care Who Knows It" and is now on the Select, but no it's not.l Quote
chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez Posted July 21, 2006 Author Report Posted July 21, 2006 how can i have respect for the modern blue note? they whore the rights out to other companies to release all the cool stuff (eg. THE PHANTOM, CONBREAD/DIPPIN' on Vinyl, etc) and the stuff they do release is the same stuff over and over, look at the recent lists of RVGs......i want at least to have the blue note of 1995 again...... I think you're being a bit unfair. Here's a ist of BNs that I've bought in the last few years that I think hadn't been available on CD before (except in Japan, maybe, or deleted Mosaic boxes). Ike Quebec - 45 sessions Bob Hutcherson - Now Lonnie Smith - Turning point Stan Turrentine - That's where it's at Sounds of Jimmy Smith Larry Young - Of love & peace Jimmy Smith - Rockin' the boat Stan Turrentine - Never let me go Grant Green - Goin' west Hank Mobley - Flip Horace Silver trio Larry Young - Mother ship Lee Morgan - Sonic boom/Procrastinator Donald Byrd - Slow drag Grant Green - Final comedown Hank Mobley - Thinking of home Jack McDuff - Moon rappin' Stan Turrentine - Hustlin' That's not a bad list. And it's from a fairly biased sample (my taste ) MG Quote
Parkertown Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 According to a recent post by Chuck, he says that these last few years have seen so much in print, more than at any other time. Even more than "back in the day." I think I'd have to agree... Quote
Bluesman Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 All the Blue Notes including The Right touch are now available for Y1500 from Japan. Its that easy. Why wait for a US release with (probably) inferior sound? Quote

Jim Alfredson Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 What Aric is really upset about is that this disc isn't common enough to be on the usenet yet so he can download it for free. C'MON BN, RELEASE THIS DOMESTICALLY SO I DON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR IT!!! Quote
riverrat Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 Ordering TOCJ24's from Hiroshi at Early Records would be a good way to go and is fairly cost effective if you order more than 1-2 CDs. There is no better person to do business with. Having said that, the TOCJ24 of this title appears to be available as a special order through Tower, for $18.99. They currently have free shipping on orders over $20 and free shipping plus 15% off on orders over $40. Given that the TOCJ24 of this title was just released in March, I think Tower could probably fill a special order. Quote
