The Magnificent Goldberg Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 If their business plan is to assume RVG will be around for another 20 years to remaster these puppies, we're in deep doo-doo. Bertrand. Well, he's had an assistant, Maureen Sickler?, around for about twenty years. I should think she could take over with that amount of experience, couldn't she? MG Quote

"Dick" has been dead for years. Quote

jazzbo Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 (edited) Me too. That McLean K2 is worth getting. As are all the Monks. Edited July 22, 2006 by jazzbo Quote
bluesbro Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 Well, I ordered aroun 30-35 cds, and all were K2. I am happy with all the ones I have. 80% i have been able to detect a signifcant improvement from the OJC, IMHO. Quote
Quincy Posted July 27, 2006 Report Posted July 27, 2006 Excuse me for a moment, but....OHMYGOD WHATEVER YOU DO GET THE K2 OF THELONIOUS MONK TRIO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PAY $11.98, SIXTEEN, $2.98 WHATEVER! I've always been a "it's about the music" 1st kind of guy, but damn it sounds great! Never thought the regular one sounded bad, but mercy mercy me. It's almost like when you first try acid (whoops, did I just type that?) And now 4, 5 And 6 is on. Man, life is damn good. If I ever lost my mind completely and decided to become a mountaineer, I'd skip Everest and climb K2 instead. It's more worthy. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted July 27, 2006 Report Posted July 27, 2006 He did say "completely". He's not quite there yet. The K2 of Blakey's "Caravan" sounds damn good to me, but then again I haven't heard the original CD pressing (if there was one). But man, what a powerful sound! Quote
