Son-of-a-Weizen
packers in mid-season form.... . Well it was nice to see Favre playing the cheap 'ain't my fault' card by sending that 'you should keep your eye on me' hand gesture to Driver, who's only a 7 year pro-bowl vet. Goober. connoisseur series500
First round of player cuts have to be made by 4:00 today. Teams have to get down to 73 players. The bigger cuts are scheduled for next week when teams have to get down to 53 players. This is the next phase of "free agency."

I think he looks ready to start. I think Leinart will prove to be the real deal. Carson is obviously back! So far the biggest name cut by the Pats today has been Hank Poteat. Hey Browns, you guys intersted in picking him up?

I'm not boned up on all the Browns' players...

connoisseur series500
Sounds good to me, I'm in. Why the need for the playoff and division splits? Why not have all 4-8 players competing directly with each other each week?

Aggie87
I went to a sports memorabilia show here today, and met Drew Pearson and Randy White. Both looked to be in great shape, and White looked like he could get out on the field and play today - dude has some guns still! Both were very friendly (I'm sure selling their autographs at these events generates nice income, so it pays to be friendly to us peons). I talked with Pearson for a bit while he signed a football for me. He asked where I had received the other Cowboys autographs on the ball (Too Tall Jones, Robert Newhouse, and Tony Hill), and I told him they had all come to Germany at different times on promotional tours to military bases, supporting the troops. He got interested in the topic, and said he was glad those guys had done that - that whatever one feels about what's going on and the administration, supporting the troops and their personal sacrifices is a good thing to do, to which I fully agreed. I also bought an autographed copy of Dat Nguyen's book "Dat - Tackling Life and the NFL", which I'd browsed through previously, and is an interesting read about his life, being born in a refugee camp, experiencing life in a coastal shrimping town up the road from here, becoming a great Aggie, and a Dallas Cowboy. All in all, not a bad afternoon for an old Cowboy fan.
