dave9199 Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 (edited) If he's so great, why did they pull the plug on 2 future box sets with unreleased material? (Rhetorical, of course.) Edited July 5, 2006 by dave9199 Quote
Dmitry Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 What is the big deal with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction? I never understood the gravitas [or the neccessity] of that joint...it's probably just me. Quote

Miles hip hop. Miles plays for lovers. Miles plays for folks buying cds at Wal-Mart. Miles plays 57 ringtones. etc. Mosaic lp editions to follow. Quote
take5 Posted July 6, 2006 Report Posted July 6, 2006 If I wasn't into jazz, I'd think Miles Davis was the only jazz musician ever, the way he's constantly re-marketed. Quote
CJ Shearn Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 isn't one of the future releases supposed to be 1969 Juan Les Pins concerts? Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted July 18, 2006 Report Posted July 18, 2006 isn't one of the future releases supposed to be 1969 Juan Les Pins concerts? It's been on the "upcoming releases" list for going on something like 4 years. I'll believe it when I see it. Great material -- both the already-issued show on Japanese Sony from the early 90's, and the other show (the day before, if I recall right), which hasn't ever been issued legally. Fantastic material, actually. Quote

dave9199 Posted July 18, 2006 Report Posted July 18, 2006 On Jazzmatazz it's in the 2006 & beyond part with the year 2005 after it. I guess we have to wait for 2005 to come around again. That sounds about right. Quote
