tonym Posted July 4, 2006 Report Posted July 4, 2006 Thinking about dragging the ol' Selmer back out and I wondered if anyone had the chords to the above song. Something to get my teeth into. TIA, Tony. Quote
Joe G Posted July 4, 2006 Report Posted July 4, 2006 Why have I never heard of this song? :rsmile: Quote
Alexander Hawkins Posted July 4, 2006 Report Posted July 4, 2006 The Abbey Lincoln version on 'That's Him' is gorgeous! Quote

Kalo Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 Ethel Waters owned this tune. Check out the soundtrack to Cabin in the Sky, or just watch the movie if you doubt me. (Not that the other versions mentioned here aren't good.) Quote

Plus, there's a chance if I can get playing again (get some chops back in order) there's a great little 3 piece band with a tremendous female vocalist who said they'd consider a tenor man behind the voice. As I've said before, this is my idea of heaven. BTW, thanks Paul. PM sent. Quote
fasstrack Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 Frank Strozier "Long Night" (Jazzland?). hauntingly beautiful playing by Strozier and the right changes and generally very memorable comping by Chris Anderson on piano. Quote
