CJ Shearn Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 what did that include? well I ended up shopping myself, going to dinner with a friend tonight. 25 is the first minor milestone I guess in adulthood. Quote
jazzbo Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 Many happy returns! You're half my age! The better half is yet to come! Quote
paul secor Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 Happy birthday! Hope you enjoy your day and have many more. Quote
BeBop Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 Congratulations on the milestone birthday. And thanks for reminding me that not everyone your age has no love for jazz. Quote
Dan Gould Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 Anyone else remember thinking "My God, I'm halfway through my 20s, next stop, 30? Seriously though, Happy B-Day! Quote
Joe G Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 Happy 25th my friend! I wish you could have been with us in Detroit last Friday to see Pat play with Gary Burton. In a perfect world... Enjoy the day. Quote

Aggie87 Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 Happy Day!!! :rsmile: :rsmile: I think the milestones are (at least for us 'Mericans): 16 - Drive 18 - Vote 20 - No longer a teen 21 - Drink legally 25 - Halfway to 30 30 - Yikes! 40 - This ain't so bad 50 - This really ain't so bad etc Quote
CJ Shearn Posted June 20, 2006 Author Report Posted June 20, 2006 thanks Joe, me too, I wish! And yes, I dunno many 25 year old ppl who love jazz. I suppose it was early, hey, just 3 and a half, but I bought the Miles Legendary Prestige box last night. I really enjoy the stuff in recorded order which is odd, b/c with the exception of the Plugged Nickel and Blackhawk stuff the sequence of the Columbia studio stuff drives me nuts with the multiple takes. Anyway for whatever reason, I honestly prefer the sound of the Prestige Quintet box to the K2's and XRCD's I have of the original albums, which I will now pass on to a friend how did Pat play the other night Joe? really wish I was there, we could have been all fanboy together Quote
Quincy Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 And I'm 43 today. Happy birthday to you, me & Eric Dolphy! Next stop on the milestones for you is 27. If you become a professional baseball player, that will probably be your best season if you're a hitter. If instead you decide to teach yourself the knuckleball you'll peak much later. There's still time for me! Quote
sheldonm Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 I thought 13, 18 and 21 were the minor milestones! Have a great 25th!!! Quote
Son-of-a-Weizen Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 25?? Damn....when you were born, I was wracking up my first car in a roadside ditch over at Loch Ness. Remember this important life lesson: No matter what, when renting overseas, always spend that extra few $$ on the optional additonal insurance and you're in the clear! Quote
Adam Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 Heck, I turned 40 yesterday. 25 ain't nuthin'! Except your auto insurance rate goes down. And you begin to get interesting to talk to. Quote
GA Russell Posted June 20, 2006 Report Posted June 20, 2006 Hap[py Birthday CJ, Quincy and Adam! I remember being a little depressed when I turned 25, because Fred Lynn had just been named the American League's MVP and he was younger than me, and there I was with nothing to show for my life! Moral: Don't allow others' achievements to enter into your thinking of yourself as your reach a milestone. Quote
