why no original liner notes/covers w/ mosaic

Some of them do have the original liners. Larry Young for example.

The Mosaic Selects have cover art, too.

But the earliest sets all came with a bag of weed hidden under the plastic tray insert - isn't that enough?

For one thing, they probably would have to pay for use of notes and/or covers (depending on ownership), but it would also be impractical, considering the fact that many Mosaic releases are culled from several albums.

Plus they own a boatload of Francis Wolf images that works for a number of their sets. . . why license other images or the use of original covers when they have that cache? It allows them to use a number of images not to be found elsewhere, giving the sets uniqueness.

I always thought we should have a thread that has scans of the original covers for each of the mosaic sets
