Soulstation1 Posted June 6, 2006 Author Report Posted June 6, 2006 believe it or not A PSA Grade 10 (Gem Ment) sold for 5k on ebay last week Quote
Dave James Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 About a month ago, I received a high end baseball memorabilia catalog in the mail. Among the items being auctioned was a PSA 10 of the card you see here, the Topps 1957 Mickey Mantle. It's the only known 10 in the world. Bidding started at $20,000!!! Holy schnikie, Batman. Up over and out. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted June 6, 2006 Author Report Posted June 6, 2006 http://www.memorylaneinc.com/site/bid/bidp...asp?itemid=1263 was this the card/auction? Quote
Dave James Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 SS, That would be the one. Wow! $31,500. You should have seen the stuff in that catalog. The absolute creme de la creme of sports memoribilia. Up over and out. Quote
Peter Johnson Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 Anyone know what a baseball autographed by Casey Stengel would be worth? Quote
Quincy Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 another fav card of mine Almost all (or maybe all) of the Yankee starters got action shots in that set, so Mickey Rivers, White, Reggie, Nettles, & Dent (to name a few) have good looking cards too. I ended up getting all but Munson's card (of the Yankees) as a kid and about 10 years ago added Thurman. Gotta have the Captain! Quote
Soulstation1 Posted June 7, 2006 Author Report Posted June 7, 2006 1967 Rod Carew Rookie probably the best card i ever owned.... bought it and resold it in about 2 or 3 hours shoulda keep that sob it was super nice Quote

Soulstation1 Posted June 7, 2006 Author Report Posted June 7, 2006 (edited) 1956 Topps Kicks Ass Edited June 7, 2006 by Soulstation1 Quote
Dave James Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 My brother and I had more '59's than any other series, but my flat out favorite is 1957. Full body action shots on most cards with the least intrusive "identificationing" of any card I can recall save maybe some early '50's Bowmans. My least favorite was the Topps 1962's, the cards that were framed in brown with a faus peel-back reveal in the bottom right hand corner. Ugly or what? Up over and out. Quote
Johnny E Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 i own 50 of these cards Too bad it's not his rookie. This is one of my all time favorite baseball cards. Quote
Johnny E Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 This is a nice one too. I love the 73' topps. Quote

Quincy Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 This is one of my all time favorite baseball cards. The '73 Topps is the first year I bought cards. For about 3 seconds I thought I had a Clemente when I opened a pack and saw this card: "Wait a sec, the uniform number isn't right...ah darn it." I made a point of getting the Clemente pictured (higher) above when I became a big kid. I think I traded a bunch of '75 football cards for some '60s & '70s baseball cards. Quote
Son-of-a-Weizen Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 ....a few '70 cards that Johnny might get a kick out of. Got the team pic hiding in the box somewhere. Quote
Man with the Golden Arm Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 these boys from '61 worth anything? Quote
Son-of-a-Weizen Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 Nada. If you're low on the Bounty paper towel cardboard tubes, go ahead and toss those cards into the kids hampster cage for the little fellas to chew up. They'll love you for it! Quote
