tranemonk
just got off the phone with Mosaic... and because I was curious... I asked... About a year from now... the Classic Capitol Jazz Sessions may/will go into the running low category... the reason I bring it up now... $192.... (I've heard a little bit of it... and I'm saving my pennies....) and once its gone.. this puppy's not coming back....
sidewinder
Only a year? That's an eternity in Mosaic shopping terms !
BruceH
Already got it. (Whew!!)
RDK
Being a broad label-comp, the music is a mixed bag and some of it may not appeal to all tastes, but i feel that this might be one of the most important and scholarly sets that Mosaic has ever done. There's some shockingly good and rather obscure stuff here that you'll probably never see together in one place again.
Matthew
Plus, it has Scatman Crothers on it!!!!
LAL
Safe. -_-
king ubu
Don't miss! The music may not be as uniformly good as on the similar H.R.S. set, but it's the same kind of unique compilation that will most probably never be available again after this one's gone! Quincy
It might be good to keep a scrap of paper near the discs as a reminder to what you've listened to lately along with what you like & don't like. It's such a sprawling set you might accidentally ignore a few discs without it. (I've just now decided to do this myself. )
Brad
Well, I've got a year so not to worry. But it is one that I do want to pick up.
DrJ
There's a whole history of jazz in this one set. Definitely I'd suggest saving up and getting it. I can't think of a better Mosaic.
tranemonk
i'm leaning heavily towards it..... What about you Ron S? There's a whole history of jazz in this one set. Definitely I'd suggest saving up and getting it. I can't think of a better Mosaic.
jazzbo
I bought this set shortly after its release. This is one of my favorite Mosaics. This and the Parker I consider among the most "important."
Ron S
i'm leaning heavily towards it..... What about you Ron S? I'm leaning heavily, too--but only 'cause I need to drop a few pounds.
