Morris Lane.Any thoughts on the new cd?

Read that he comes from the R&B Honking Tenors .Any opinions on him or this cd "Tenor Saxman"?

Hope the CD is better than the other Lane solos I've heard.

His solo on the Be-Bop Boys "Webb City," the one with Fats Navarro and Bud Powell, is one of the worst horn solos I've ever heard. Period. And I've heard some stinkers.

I'd love to hear some Morris Lane that can change the attitude that solo has given me.
