Skype is offering free calls to land lines thru the end of 2006.

Normally, PC to PC is free.

Now you can dial on your PC and call an out of state land line phone or cell phone for free.

This is the email I received from Skype. Download their software, then try dialing a number. Enter 001 before the area code. Example 001- xxx - xxx- xxxx for calls within the USA.

It's been working for free, since I've gotten the email.

From the email, it looks like the FREE offer is only good in the USA and Canada.

Yes, you have to be located in the USA or Canada and calling a number in the USA or Canada. I misunderstood that and told a friend in Bulgaria to try calling my cell today. No dice. Still a pretty cool offer, though.
