If you buy only 1 pop cd this decade.....

Recommended Posts

i know most of you will just disregard this plea but i wanted to express how i have brushed off nearly all pop since 1990 through the present- however there is a new cd from england by allison goldfrapp and her band GOLDFRAPP which is remarkable. Its called 'supernature'. i also attended the concert and i was very impressed because it is the 1st pop concert ive ever seen where the sonic quality of the live concert equalled the high production quality of the studio cd. even in the 80s when all these slick sounding lps were being produced-- in concert, it all still sounded more 'raw', etc.

I highly reccommed "supernature" to those adventurous jazz fans who wish to go one step beyond every now and then-- if you buy only one pop cd this should be it!

I wouldn't really consider it "one step beyond"!

One step beyond jazz to what?? Pop?? That's a regression, not a progression!

I'm still afraid of bird flu. I ain't buying squat.

I might buy beautifully packaged squat to listen to in Canada as I await the winged death.

I'm sure your neighbor Aric/Contemporary Lady will be happy to supply you with any burns you may need while riding out the epidemic :P

You know, I was really hoping this was a serious thread, because I have seen her a couple of times on late night talk shows, and was very impressed each time(Long periods apart)...but of course, I couldn't remember what the goofy name of the group was. Then, I see the name again, but forget to see about getting the cd(s) Any more real recommendations????
