andybleaden Posted May 12, 2006 Author Report Posted May 12, 2006 I hereby declare that you are banished, never to return. Your name will be eaten and will never be seen again. ok So .......is it any good? Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 They re-issued this on vinyl a few years ago. It shouldn't be too hard to find. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 Oh, and there are some tracks from it on the recent re-issues of George Benson's first two Columbia dates. How it is? It's funky and good! The only thing the stinks is that all the tunes are short and fade-out (some right before the organ solo starts!!!) and makes one wonder if the full versions of the tunes are somewhere sitting in a vault. I'd like you to be right Jim. One of the big problems with Columbia is that they had this short track syndrome for years - even "Kind of blue" has short tracks compared to what Miles had been doing at Prestige. But I bet the full versions have been ditched. MG Quote
