Noj Posted May 5, 2006 Report Posted May 5, 2006 Not to fear, the only dancing johnson in that post is a cocky wide receiver! Quote
birdanddizzy Posted May 5, 2006 Report Posted May 5, 2006 You know, in clubs and stuff. You mean, like this : The Claude Bolling orchestra at the "Tabou" in Paris, 1962 (click on the screen) Oh yes, of course ! Every saturday at the Caveau de la Huchette in Saint Germain des Prés... Well, not sure Quote
Joe G Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 I've been digging a CD I recently picked up from Karsh Kale, titled "Liberation". Modern techno/dance grooves mixed with Hindustani elements. Guests include Zakir Hussein and Bill Laswell. Not for everyone, I'm certain (I played if for Jim A., and he didn't seem too excited. Of course, it was 2:30 a.m. after a long day and a gig). I did a search on the board, and only one mention came up; from jazzbo. Any comments, Lon? I'd jump at the chance to attend a show in Chicago or elsewhere (and once again, as with Monday Michiru, he was just there and I missed it); I'm sure it would be quite the rave, and an interestingly diverse crowd. Aggie87 Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 I've got a couple of things that Kale is on (the Tabla Beat Science discs, and a couple of Laswell cd's), and when I'm in the mood for that stuff, really enjoy them. Will have to check out his leader stuff. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 I'm willing and ready to dance if Organissimo would only place a parking meter on stage. Oh yeah, free beer. Quote
Joe G Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 You'd think if a fella had an act like that, he'd have his own parking meter. Quote
