I do. Unlike the other series, I like the teams in this one.

Guy

I feel that one.

Especially since I am the only person to pick Dallas to beat the Spurs, I am still in the running to win all the pool's I entered. :g

Tim Thomas is killing Dallas.

Josh Howard is doing the same to Phoenix.

That last sentence was written before Dirk exploded for 19 pts in the 4th quarter.

Fifty points for Dirk tonight.

FIFTY MF POINTS!!!!!

Think he's still pissed about his performance in game 4? Ohhhhhh YEAH!!!!

Can the Mavs finish this in 6? I dunno.....

As exciting as the series with the Spurs? DAMN STRAIGHT!!! :excited::excited::excited:

MAVS IN THE DRIVERS SEAT... :g

I'm not in running; didn't pick Mavs or Suns and if Heat wins, I am really cooked. :(

Not necessarily -- almost everyone picked the Spurs to win last round and I don't think anyone picked Miami, so you're losing the same points as everyone else.

As of right now, the tradesports.com probabilities on each series are:

Miami series victory 72.0-74.0%

Pistons series victory 26.2-26.9%

Mavs series victory 85.5-87.0%

Suns series victory 13.3-14.0%

and overall chances of winning the championship:

Mavs 46.1-46.9%

Heat 33.0-34.0%

Pistons 15.6-15.8%

Suns 4.7-5.7%

No offense guy but except for Miami, Dallas, Detroit and Phoenix, does anyone really care? For the most part, I'd say not. There's just no juice here.

I"m not particularly a fan of any of the 4 teams, but I am enjoying the playoffs still. Especially the Pistons/Heat matchup. I wish Dallas and Phoenix would play some D - the winner is going to need to be able to do that to compete in the Finals, regardless of opponent.

If Pistons win tonight, Heat in big trouble.... :g:g

If Heat wins, Dallas or Phoenix in big trouble... Either one would have to deal with Shaq and Wade. Shaq is ready to hit people (on the sly of course) (what we call "playoff Finals fouls") Dirk is just not ready to be hit like that nor Howard. Nash and Diaw aren't ready for that either, let along Barbosa. :g:g They have no idea.

Agree

If Heat wins, Dallas or Phoenix in big trouble...

Disagree.

Either one would have to deal with Shaq and Wade.

Likewise, Miami would have to deal with Phoenix's running game or Dallas's incredibly deep roster.

Phoenix is extremely vulnerable inside to Shaq, but it's also true that if they get their running game going that exposes a massive hole on Miami's side -- Shaq simply won't be able to keep up.

As far as Dallas -- they're simply a better team. They have two solid centers to pick up fouls from Shaq and a whole lot of weapons that Miami will be helpless against. If they managed against a stronger San Antonio team, then they'll do fine against Miami.

Question: why don't coaches use the hack-a-Shaq or hack-a-Ben strategy more often? If I was a coach I would use them ALL THE TIME.

As far as Hack-a-Ben, it is not necessary during the game because he is not a scoring threat. At the end or near end a coach would probably foul Ben just to take the ball out of the Pistons offense. Ben would probably only make 1 of 2; so the strategy is TO LIMIT THE PISTONS TO ONE POINT ON THAT PARTICULAR OFFENSIVE SET OR POSSESSION and at best, two points if Ben gets REALLY HOT but never a 3 or a 3+1. You can expect Coach Riley to recognize this. Depends on the score and time left. He is brilliant. (Oh, I guess I am too :g )

The Hack-a-Shaq is risky but does have the same effect. Shaq can make 2 at any time BUT, if fouled, the team cannot shoot a 3 or possibly get a 3+1. Thus you always save 2 possible points on the Hack-a-Shaq and Hack-a-Ben. This ploy has developed into a time-of-possession also. You get the ball back and can hopefully use up 24 seconds thereby further limiting the opponent from maintaining momentum and overtaking your score. :g:g<_<

Hey

Guys,

Cannot believe how the Internet is acting up. Posted three times in error. Post kept timing out and I kept posting, Did not know it was taking. :(

Bruce -- usually before I try to post again I refresh the screen. If the post was accepted (as it often is) it will appear near the bottom of your screen.

The Kings hired Eric Musselman today. I'm psyched for the guy -- he really managed to turn around the Warriors from a 20 win team to a 38 win team. (No joke.) Unfortunately his intense style rubs off poorly on players. Hopefully he won't have the same difficulties in Sac.

As crazy as it sounds, the Pistons played a good game. They got open looks and defended well (except against you know who.)

Nothing much you can when shots just arent falling. Conversely, everything was dropping for the Heat and White Chocolate.

Cant complain when you are only 2 years removed from a championship. I think with last years game seven, the piston organization was convinced they didnt need to get any better. And they didnt. Hopefully this will teach Joe D to do something about improving this team. (which is still a long way away from being done.)

If only we had Darko....

My condolences, Pistons fans. Who'd've thunk a team with White Chocolate and 'Toine would go to the Finals?

Go Western Conference!
