That's not completely fiction. The Modern Jazz Quartet + Paul Desmond

played the theme from "Jesus Christ Superstar" on the posthumously

issued LP recorded at Town Hall on Dec. 25, 1971.

That explains how this idea came up in the attics of my mind - I heard that album at a friend's place many years ago.
