At last, we return after several weeks of intense review and a rigorous push towards greater efficiency within the infrastructure of The Official Woody Shaw Website. We are currently in the process of adding several new features - incorporating a new level of functionality by expanding much of the content and integrating a slick new database. 2006 is going to present a new chapter in the on-going resurgence of Woody Shaw's legacy. Very interesting what he says about the lack of mass popularity of jazz primarily being due to a lack of talented promoters (versus lack of appealing artists or potential fans, I assume). Of course, that was 1980 when straight ahead was getting slammed (Todd says Hank couldn't even afford a decent horn). But the statement probably has a high degree of truth today as well.
