Stan Kenton LP set on its way out

The last non Miles Davis Mosaic LP set (apart from the Monk/Coltrane) is now in the last chance category. I am sitting on the fence for this one. I have the CD set and I have been considering buying the Lp version for quite some time now. Is it worth pulling the trigger for these LPs? How does the Lp version compare with the CDs?

I can tell you that the LP set is WAY heavier than the CD set.

I actually had both. . . cduniverse sent me the LP set instead of the CD set. . . got that corrected though, don't have it any longer. (This was years ago).

I picked the LP version of the set up at a good deal and it sounds great - up to usual Q-LP standards. Recommended !

I was a fool not to pick up the Lp set when Tower Records was basically throwing away all the Mosaics they had in stock. I did pick up 2 Ellington Capitol cd sets for $20 each.

Jazzbo is right - that Kenton set is HEAVY.

OH BOO HOO YOU DONT HAVE THE KENTON SET I DONT FEEL SORRY FOR U BEACUSE U LIKE ALL THE REST OF US SHOULD ALREADY HAVE ALL THIS STUFF ON PURPLE CAPITOL 78'S. ITS NOT LIKE THEY ARE RARE OR ANYTHING. EVEN I, CHEWY, WAS ABLE TO OBTAIN LIKE 75% OF THEM, AND THAT WAS THE LATE '90S!

Nearly fell off my chair when I looked in 'last chance' yesterday and saw that it wasn't there !
