Thanks Quite a difficult one this but I think the 'Addictive Tendencies' double CD put out by Tubbs' drummer of the period Tony Levin is quite unbeatable. Then there are the two new Harkit ones 'Live at the Dancing Slipper' and 'Live at the Hopbine' also issued last year by Harkit. These are all excellent. Qualitatively, they are better from a recording point of view than Tubbs Live in London (also Harkit). Although only unearthed recently these really are the best live recordings apart from the Fontana ones 'Late Spot at Scotts' and 'Down in the Village' which are more genteel but superbly recorded in stereo. Check out http://www.geocities.com/tubbs1935 for the full lowdown. Edited March 2, 2006 by RogerFarbey Quote
