Miles - On the Corner and Beyond

I don't mind saying it again....this was my best purchase of 2007. I guess alot of that had to do with the fact that I was completely unfamiliar with the majority of the material on here, and so much of this music is so nasty, groovy, dark and exciting. There's no music that I've heard anywhere else that sounds like this. Miles did it again, and its so much fun to hear.

I just bought this today at the going-out-of-business Borders around the corner. $97, and I had the chance to see that it was not dented or scratched.

This is my favorite era of Miles. The only thing that could top this is a set of soundboard tapes of the complete 1974 & 1975 tours.

Really enjoying the sound of this set with my re-jigged system with filtered supplies on a separate mains spur and with the 'Graham's Hydra' hooked up.

For once, I'm not missing having this one available as a Mosaic LP set.

FWIW, Jazz Loft has a coupon good through today offering the OTC set for $90 + shipping.

Finally got me a copy from Zweitausendeins for € 59,99 - an unexpected tax refund made it possible.

Now I'll have to dig my way through these excentric soundscapes ...
