Soulstation1
anyone heard of this cd?
Joe
"Trane Whistle" is pretty smoking. I prefer this version to the (slightly ater) big band treatment, in fact.
Chuck Nessa
Used to have the lp, don't have the cd. I remember liking the tenor, vibes, organ sound.
Noj
My favorite tracks on this one are the first two, "Trane Whistle" and "Doxy."
mailman
I downloaded this one from emusic a couple of months ago. Excellent. I really like the vibes-organ combination and Nelson plays really well here. It's a winner.
brownie
I have had the original vinyl for years. This was not really my favorite Oliver Nelson at the time but I have grown to like the album. Not enough Lem Winchester dates available! The Magnificent Goldberg
Never noticed JHS was on this. Goes to the top three of my list! Thanks for posting pic of sleeve SS1. MG
kinuta
'Taking Care Of Business' is very nice. You might also like ' Nocturne'(OJC) with Lem Winchester,'Meet Oliver Neslon'(OJC) and Shirley Scott's ' Blue Seven'(OJC). 'Blue Seven' was pretty hard to find but worth the effort. It 'really burns' to use the accepted vernacular.
