Borders Coupons

I am so frustrated by Borders. I prefer shopping there but today I went in to use my 20% coupon to buy Charles Lloyd and Higgins "Which way is East". I checked the website, where you can check inventory in the store, and it said yes, it was there. I have been checking every day all week to make sure it was still there, that there wasn't an error or that it wasn't sold out, and when I get to the store, nothing. Nowhere to be found. I even checked the in-store computer, and it said yes, it was there. I asked someone, and he looked everywhere and couldn't find it. This is the same store that frequently is out of half and half and coffee lids in the coffee shop-yes, I've had to walk out of there with my coffee cup uncovered more than once!! So I went to fye and paid full price for that CD, just to spite Borders for not having it when they said they did!! Of course, I will be back at Borders with the next coupon!

Not only that, but if you check their store inventory for Jimmy Smith's MIDNIGHT SPECIAL, it's not even listed as even existing!!! I was hoping that they would give it to me for free, seeing as how I'd found a copy at the Fort Worth (Hulen) store this past Thursday!

Always call ahead before buying something this way. Almost all retailers that have websites with store inventory information use non-realtime inventory systems. The information displayed is often yesterday's information. Most of these inventory systems also do not use "license plating," which means that the system cannot differentiate between a display unit, an open box unit, a defective unit, a unit on hold for a customer, or a brand new unit.

Now through September 26, buy any 3 CDs and get the 4th free!*

*Least expensive item is free. Multiple-disc CD sets count as one item. Offer not valid online. Some titles may not be available at Borders Express stores. See your local Borders Express for details.

Just bumpin' this up, in case anybody missed it. Amounts to a full 25% discount, if you buy four discs that all are priced exactly the same.

Time to catch up on some of the recent RVG's, me thinks!! :P
