BeBop Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 It's funny, I used to jump on these coupons. I don't even go to Borders anymore. Use them online: http://www.borders.com. Quote
mikelz777 Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 (edited) The Borders closest to me has totally eliminated their CD section so I'm not really interested in them any more unless I'm in the area, need to kill some time and there's nothing else going on. Sometimes the coupons can be worthwhile. The 40% off coupon roused my interest but that's off the retail price so it actually only brings the price down to where it it sometimes competitive with other retailers. It's rare that I find the price after coupon to be compelling enough to buy an item there (or online) rather than somewhere else. Edited June 5, 2010 by mikelz777 Quote
Free For All Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 It's funny, I used to jump on these coupons. I don't even go to Borders anymore. Use them online: http://www.borders.com. I guess my point is that Borders doesn't really have much anymore that interests me. As far as DVDs and books, as mikelz777 said, the coupons reduce from FULL retail so the deals aren't particularly competitive with online options. The 40% coupon is about the only one I pay attention to, and the last time I went to use one I couldn't find anything I wanted. I used to go to Borders to for music and would usually browse the rest of the store and often pick up a couple impulse items. I miss browsing CDs- it's not nearly as much fun online. Quote
Dave Garrett Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 I used the recent 40% off coupon to pick up the Rhino Big Star box set at my local Borders. But there's not a lot (music-wise, anyway) there that interests me much anymore. I'm hoping they stock the deluxe Bitches Brew set like they did with the KOB one, and another 40% off coupon comes along then. A couple of the Borders stores in my area still have copies of the big KOB set in their locked cases - no takers even when they had them on sale at 50% off. Quote

Free For All Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 Which coupon do I need to get my friends over the border? Not sure, but it's not valid at any of the Arizona Borders. Quote

BeBop Posted June 15, 2010 Report Posted June 15, 2010 40% off- yay! In store only - boo! Maybe there's a book you want? Valid through the 17th. Quote
BeBop Posted July 23, 2010 Report Posted July 23, 2010 40% off any item. Web or B&M. Expires 26th July. Quote
BeBop Posted August 17, 2010 Report Posted August 17, 2010 40% off CDs, single disc, through the 19th, but NOT valid online...so it's pretty low value, unless your local Borders still has CDs. And not vald on boxes. Quote
Free For All Posted August 17, 2010 Report Posted August 17, 2010 Thanks for posting this, although I don't think I've set foot in any Borders for at least six months. I used to go there all the time. Quote
BeBop Posted August 17, 2010 Report Posted August 17, 2010 I don't post anything that's less than 40% (based on Borders' pricing) and generally don't post anything that isn't good on the web (based on Borders' in-store selection). But there you go. Quote
BeBop Posted January 1, 2011 Report Posted January 1, 2011 50 percent off, in-store, two days. Hey, they still have books. Quote
bertrand Posted January 1, 2011 Report Posted January 1, 2011 Put that We Want Miles book on hold and will pick it up in a bit. I really wanted in French, but not at twice the price or more. Bertrand. Quote
Unk Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 40 percent off almost any one item, including online through the 16th of May. Here. Quote
