Just before this article was published, she starred in a movie with Ben Affleck - 200 Cigarettes - so maybe his intelligence rubbed off on her. Reminds me a bit about Steve Albini's rant from 1993. She certainly makes a lot of valid points there and makes me respect Ani DiFranco even more for doing it herself. Read this with care and consider the "choices" made by the band. The "record company" clearly has the upper hand but the band made a bunch of side deals and paid the price. They also decided to sign the contract.
