...and the Budd Schulberg novel was based on the real life career of Primo Carnera.

The second photo is Primo and boxer Max Baer. Baer proceeded to knock Carnera down ten times...winning the fight.

I'm not a boxing fan either unless it's Ali. Anybody see the 15 rounder with Oscar Bonavena on OLN this past week? Cosell was trying to generate excitement and make it sound closer than it was. Ali is unbelievable. An artist at work. Can't stop watching. Bonavena had power but I'm convinced Ali was, more or less, playing with him...until Oscar hit the canvas in the 15th. I think Ali/Frazier is next on the Legends of the Ring series.

As a boxing buff i can tell you that the big guy is Nicolai Valuev with the height of 7' and weighting around 320 pounds.

Saw his last fight, he obviously ain't no Ali, Holmes or a Lewis. But he is not the joke that people made him to be. He has some decent technique.

at this point in my life, i get no pleasure from seeing people pound each other senseless. i used to love it.
