sheldonm Posted February 13, 2006 Report Posted February 13, 2006 I knew if I went through the photo gallery of this guy, I would find a mug shot of that idiot Don King~ m~ Quote
Aggie87 Posted February 13, 2006 Report Posted February 13, 2006 Ok, tell me the little guy isn't a ringer. Quote
brownie Posted February 13, 2006 Report Posted February 13, 2006 Reminds me of the film 'The Harder They Fall' based on a Budd Schulberg novel on the boxing world. That type of story! It was also Humphrey Bogart's final film Quote
Alexander Posted February 13, 2006 Report Posted February 13, 2006 Jesus! The guy looks like a character from that old "Punch-Out" video game! Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 Looks like a giant ugly tarantula! Check out that beetle-brow. That dude's too ugly to do any other occupation. Quote
PHILLYQ Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 He might be one of those guys that are euphemistically called 'opponents' Quote
Gary Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 I've seen his last couple of fights & he is as boring as he is big. Quote
Harold_Z Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 (edited) Reminds me of the film 'The Harder They Fall' based on a Budd Schulberg novel on the boxing world. That type of story! It was also Humphrey Bogart's final film Exactly. ...and the Budd Schulberg novel was based on the real life career of Primo Carnera. The second photo is Primo and boxer Max Baer. Baer proceeded to knock Carnera down ten times...winning the fight. Edited February 16, 2006 by Harold_Z Quote

RonF Posted September 6, 2006 Report Posted September 6, 2006 (edited) I'm not a boxing fan either unless it's Ali. Anybody see the 15 rounder with Oscar Bonavena on OLN this past week? Cosell was trying to generate excitement and make it sound closer than it was. Ali is unbelievable. An artist at work. Can't stop watching. Bonavena had power but I'm convinced Ali was, more or less, playing with him...until Oscar hit the canvas in the 15th. I think Ali/Frazier is next on the Legends of the Ring series. Van Basten II Posted September 6, 2006 Report Posted September 6, 2006 As a boxing buff i can tell you that the big guy is Nicolai Valuev with the height of 7' and weighting around 320 pounds. Saw his last fight, he obviously ain't no Ali, Holmes or a Lewis. But he is not the joke that people made him to be. He has some decent technique. Quote
