7/4 Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 I'd say we got about a 1 & 1/2 feet here in Jersey. It's all going to melt real quick, warmer for the rest of the week. I'm not even going to bother to dig my car out. Quote
Tom in RI Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 We had about 2-3 inches overnight here in RI. The storm has just picked in the last half hour(10:30 AM), starting to look like the blizzard that was forecast. Lots of snow and lots of wind, white out conditions. Quote
fasstrack Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 (edited) Just started shoveling out at least the wheels of my car. Too much to do the whole thing at once as out of shape as I am. So the 'good news': there's a whole lot such excercise ahead later..... Edited February 12, 2006 by fasstrack Quote
Alexander Hawkins Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 From my window this morning... Beautiful. Wish we had more snow here! Quote
sheldonm Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 ...got a slight "dusting" overnight. Nice image Chris! m~ Quote
Ron S Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 Eighteen inches here, and STILL COMING DOWN. The weird thing was that, while I was in the chatroom last night with Soulstation1, conn_500, and Aggie87 (don't think FFA was there at the time), we had a big flash of lightning followed immediately by a loud clap of thunder here while the snow was falling heavily. At the time, I thought that maybe a power line transformer had exploded nearby or something like that. But this morning, I heard on the local news that, indeed, this blizzard had been accompanied by some rather freakish lightning and thunder. Quote
frank m Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 This jazz BB as well as the others, seems tobe very active today. I guess all of us in the northeast are snowed in. Quote
GA Russell Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 They were predicting heavy thundershowers and maybe a little snow for us here in eastern North Carolina, but we got nothing like that. Drizzle most of yesterday, clear skies today. Predicting 60 degrees Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Quote
frank m Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 Wow, North Carolinia. 60 degrees. You really know how to hurt a guy. Quote
Adam Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 Sunny and dry in Los Angeles. Again. I wish it would rain a little. Quote
Man with the Golden Arm Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 18 inches big whoop! aren't the Olympics on or something? ... you would think that the weatherfolks would at least need to go to the bathroom at some point if for nothing more than to use up all that TP everyone buys. since I have no cable I'm bout ready to open up a big can of doppler effect on them meterologists! Big Al Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 Man, I wish we could get some snow around here once in a while..... Quote

BERIGAN Posted February 12, 2006 Report Posted February 12, 2006 Man, I wish we could get some snow around here once in a while..... I feel your pain! It snows about 50-75 miles north of us, but we get a cold rain here in the Atl....or ice. Quote

I live in an apt. and the car is in the lot. Maintenance better not pile it on my car. It won't get above freezing until Monday. I'll go out and slide most of the snow off around noon so the layer of ice on the bottom can melt. It was snowing for hours before the temp went below freezing yesterday. Quote
