catesta Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 I grew up in a family that owned a franchise of Burger Kings. For the first 18 years of my life my entire immediate and extended family had jobs within the company. At one point we owned 6 locations. So, believe me, I had my fill of BK as a child. Ironically, my mother was also into the healthfood craze of the 70's-80's and was incredible strict on what we were allowed to eat from "the store" as my dad called it. No fries, mostly iced tea, if we drank pop it was diet, and then they had the big salad bars. Now I eat fast food on the rarest of occasion. A road trip with Jim or a weakness for a cheesburger extra-pickle. But there is a woman in my office who will eat McD's 3-4x a wk and her guilty pleasure is the bacon dbl cheeseburger with large fries and pop. Oh, I'm ill thinking of it! Last note, I was 14 before stepping into my first McD's. It was the enemy! There's money in them fast food restrents. Quote
J Larsen Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 The last time I ate at McDonaldds, it tasted so bad to me I threw it up before I had completely swallowed the first bite. I'm not kidding. That was in 1991. Quote
Tom 1960 Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 I probably get to McDonald's twice a year to get it out or into my system for that matter. For the most part, I'm pretty good at keeping away from the junk food. I usually follow a pretty regimented life style being a firm believer or fanatic when it comes to diet and exercise. But every now and then you have these urges. I try not to feel to guilty about it though and they do taste good. Quote
PHILLYQ Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 I haven't eaten at a fast food place like McDonald's, etc. in a few years. I used to go sometimes when my son was younger(He's 13 now.), and he seemed to be more interested in the toy most times rather than the food! In fact, I asked him a few months ago if he wanted to go to Burger King or McD's, and he said "Why would I want to go there? I can get a better burger at home." At last, after years of cooking for him and trying to make something good at home, I got a payoff! I was also quite proud of my guy Quote
catesta Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 I'm actually amazed how few people do the fast food thing. What was it PFunk Jazz said about the crew here and junk food? He may have been right about the porn, but he was wrong about the food thing. Quote

chris olivarez Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 (edited) You forgot the rarely option so I voted 0. This is pretty much the way that it works for me. I was doing basketball play by play recently in Alamosa,Colorado and after the games the only place open was you guessed it Mickey D's. The stuff I ordered had been under the lamp for awhile-Bummer!!! Oh well that's life on the basketball road!!! Edited February 10, 2006 by chris olivarez Quote
Free For All Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 They offer healthy choices - McLean, McVeggie Less successful were the McDuff and the McGriff; both are very tasty but high in greeze. Quote
Dmitry Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 If you are going to die from putting stuff in your body there are a lot of better options I'd say! Quote

I eat the stuff more than I should, but mainly cause its so cheap and fast. Usually i get an item or two of the dollar menu when i know i wont be able to make it home for a few hours. But that is, thankfully, rare. I guess all the fast food fans are over on the mtv.com messageboards. They dont care what crap they put in their ears or mouths. Quote
kinuta Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 Never. I don't touch any fast food , period. Quote

HolyStitt Posted March 4, 2006 Report Posted March 4, 2006 I have been a vegetarian for almost 15 years now, but until I read "Fast-food Nation" I used to love McDonald's cones. Now that I know what they are made of I am too freaked out to eat them again! It probably is not any better, but I love the B.K. Veggie. Quote

It is some kind of engineered formula that is supposed to taste like dairy, but it actually isn't. There is not any dairy in the cones and shakes because it would not be cost and travel effective. ....but those B.K. Veggie's are perfect... Edited March 4, 2006 by HolyStitt Quote
