The Magnificent Goldberg Posted March 26, 2007 Author Report Posted March 26, 2007 The one that makes it for me is Arnett Cobb! His cheer will and joy of playing is totally amazing! Absolutely - all his work is filtered through pain. And it's incredible that what comes out is joy! I simply can't understand how musicians do what they do. MG Quote
Soul Stream Posted March 26, 2007 Report Posted March 26, 2007 I would just say I think that if you started playing tenor in Texas, you're probably playing a hell of a lot of blues to begin with. And in a lot of places that don't give a damn about you unless you can deliver on an emotional level. That may be true a lot of places, but none moreso than Texas. I think Jim can attest to that fact. It makes for a pretty invincible sound on the instrument! Quote
