I remember seeing Sellers interviewed (pretty sure on the Today Show) for the Chance the gardener movie.  I was struck by the absence of personality.

Dick Morrissey's son just told me that Sellers and his crowd used to spend every waking moment they had at Ronnie Scott's. If Dick was playing there, a drunken Sellers would be hitting on Dick's wife.

At least he went out 'swinging'; his final request was that Glen Miller's "In  the Mood" was to be played at his funeral.

My dad was a big Sellers fan, especially The Mouse That Roared and the Goon Show, so it's hard for me to separate that from my appreciation of Sellers.  It's kind of odd because my dad wasn't like Sellers at all. very solid and stable.
