trane123 Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 This could set a record in the history of jazz CDs auctions.... Just noticed that this auction has been removed. Wonder what happened. Maybe the seller has second thoughts. Quote
EKE BBB Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 This could set a record in the history of jazz CDs auctions.... Just noticed that this auction has been removed. Wonder what happened. Maybe the seller has second thoughts. Strange! Last time I checked it, winning bid was about 4.800 USD, with two days left. Quote

sidewinder Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 Time to put the Miles Mosaic sets on ebay and order fresh copies from Stamford ! Quote
trane123 Posted September 1, 2006 Report Posted September 1, 2006 Mosaic - in the form of Basie, NK Cole, Smith, etc. - has nothing on these guys ----- http://cgi.ebay.com/Monkees-Headquarters-S...1QQcmdZViewItem Quote

Ken Dryden Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 This Jamaican seller is "Beyond Category," the term idiot is insufficient to describe such pricing, unless someone actually bids on this ridiculously overpriced group. Maybe Duke came back from the grave to sign all of them... Quote
Ken Dryden Posted September 8, 2006 Report Posted September 8, 2006 Here's a bit of craziness on ebay's sister site half.com: http://product.half.ebay.com/California-Co...temZ12378192877 This same seller also has $38 price tags on forgettable smooth jazz CDs by the likes of George Howard. Quote
Chas Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 I believe this may be a per-disc record : ~ $ 230.00 per CD , or ~ $ 38.00 per booklet page Albert Ammons and Meade Lux Lewis 2-CD set : http://cgi.ebay.com/Mosaic-Records-Comp-BN...1QQcmdZViewItem Quote
mandrill Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 Mosaic sets still have long way to go to reach these heights. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=320024388278 Quote
bakeostrin Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 I wonder what people think of the prices paid for (other than, yes, I would like to sell my collection @ $225 per out of print disc): "Johnny Hodges with Strings" http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...A%3AIT&rd=1 and "Buddy Rich Just Sings" http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...A%3AIT&rd=1 Each went for > $225 for a single disc. There is always the possibility that the discs will be reissued. I collect books and always want first editions, but I don't know that it makes that much of a difference with some CD's (although it can with others, I am sure). I recall this same seller getting a couple hundred dollars for Sonny Stitt/Zoot Sims "Interaction" as well. Regards, Baker Quote
Aggie87 Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 Heck, $225 per disc ain't nothing. Check this out! Quote
Daniel A Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 This is not crazy, just a bit weird. All Herbie Hancock album listings on eBay unsing the Muze pre-filled information appears as Quincy Jones albums. If the sellers haven't put Hanock's name in the title manually they even have it in the auction title: Empyrean Isles "Quincy Jones" albums... Quote
