clifford_thornton Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 You could get all the original Solid State LPs for significantly less than that! Quote
brownie Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Yes but the sound on the Mosaic box is WAY much better! Quote
brownie Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 That Grant Green/Sonny Clark set is mighty expensive. Specially when you can have the same music on the regular BN label! Quote
sidewinder Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 (edited) Madness - especially when that 2CD doubletime can be picked up for as little as £5. I saw a copy of this set in a shop for about £100 late last year. That was a bit more realistic. The cult of Sonny Clark does it's magic yet again. I wonder if there's a market on ebay for Sonny Clark memorabilia (cups, souvenir plates, carry-alls, car number plate holders etc etc. ). Edited February 14, 2006 by sidewinder Quote
Hardbopjazz Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 Damn right. I'm going to sell mine if I could get that price. Quote
brownie Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 Wonder what the vinyl box of this Green/Clark would reach?!? Quote
ASNL77 Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 Wonder what the vinyl box of this Green/Clark would reach?!? I managed to grab the LP set for $145 on Ebay 3 months ago. I still can't believe my luck. It is a fantastic set. I love the sound quality. Quote

Claude Posted March 5, 2006 Report Posted March 5, 2006 $76.300 for a 1955 Fender Stratocaster http://cgi.ebay.com/1955-Fender-Stratocast...1QQcmdZViewItem Quote
HolyStitt Posted March 5, 2006 Report Posted March 5, 2006 $76.300 for a 1955 Fender Stratocaster http://cgi.ebay.com/1955-Fender-Stratocast...1QQcmdZViewItem I don't think the price is that shocking because of the rarity of the guitar and the content of the emails sent. What is shocking is that anything can go that high with a seller with one feedback! Quote
Son-of-a-Weizen Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 WOW! Ebay Jones/Lewis Mosaic $898.00 $179.00 per CD Still days to go! Yeah, $179 per disc is up there.......and how about these recent Dave Bailey mini-lp sales? Don't think I've ever seen jazz mini-lps hit such highs. http://cgi.ebay.com/Dave-Bailey-REACHING-O...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/JAZZ-japan-mini-lp-CD-...1QQcmdZViewItem Quote

Stereojack Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 Wonder whatever will happen with this It is a test pressing of a reissue, so I'd be surprised if it went crazy, but then again, anything goes. Quote

Aggie87 Posted April 7, 2006 Report Posted April 7, 2006 Check this one out! I figure since they're selling a box, it fits in the box set thread Quote
BFrank Posted May 14, 2006 Report Posted May 14, 2006 Thad Jones' 3CD set just sold for $169.16. That's over $50/disk. I've never seen this set go for so much. At the same time, Jackie Mac went for $124.05, which seems a bit low to me. Quote
brownie Posted June 14, 2006 Report Posted June 14, 2006 Autographed Charlie Parker photo goes over 2K! The photo was taken by Hervé Derrien, obviously in 1950 when Charlie Parker visited the French capital for the second time. Derrien was a prominent jazz photographer in the '50s. Quote
sidewinder Posted June 14, 2006 Report Posted June 14, 2006 Reserve not even met on this Studio Basie ! Priceless Basie Quote
