Kevin Bresnahan Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 See this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...6&category=1056? What's with this bidder? First off, this is coming out in Japan in a couple of months but check the bid history. One person?? Was the reserve $150? This seller is crazy if that's what happened here. Later, Kevin Quote
Guest Chaney Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 See this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...6&category=1056? What's with this bidder? First off, this is coming out in Japan in a couple of months but check the bid history. One person?? Was the reserve $150? This seller is crazy if that's what happened here. Later, Kevin First bid was set at $9.99 and a single bidder was able to bid to the (apparent) $150 reserve price? That is strange. Looks like the winning bidder has been doing pretty well for himself of late selling LPs. Quote

Guest Chaney Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 Anyone own this one? CHUCK BARRIS CONFESSIONS OF DANGEROUS SINGER Better question might be: Would anyone admit to owning this one? Quote
Daniel A Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 Look at his other items. I am tempted to believe it could be an error in the listing. The seller's own explanation to the price: Viewing questions 1-1 of 1 asked about this item. 1) why is this $84? (07/15/2003)  My thought was to have an item that I could refer people to so they could then reference my other 800+ Jazz Cds by "Lister / Seller". Is there another way to do that? I am open to bids on the CD. Certainly no offense intended. John Quote
BERIGAN Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 only 10-14 hours left for most of these items....always sad when someone dies leaving a huge jazz collection, but someone is going to buy the cds .... http://www.stores.ebay.com/id=630869&ssPageName=L2 Quote

Brad Posted August 3, 2003 Report Posted August 3, 2003 That seller, Chameleon Collection, has some nice stuff. I've bought from him before, a Storyville Vic Dickinson cd, and no complaints. Quote
Guest Chaney Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 Here's a bit of craziness in the other direction. Cecil Taylor solo Garden cd (Sealed) hat hut - Buyit Now Price $12.99 I think I'm going to be sick. If anyone ever sees either Garden I or Garden II at this type of foolishly low price, LET ME KNOW or BUY IT and then LET ME KNOW and I'll buy it from you. I'd be forever in your debt. Quote
Big Wheel Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 Hey, I think I might actually know the lucky buyer of that album--met him at a party last summer. He's a young bassist and a Cecil Taylor/William Parker freak. Tried to track him down for a gig in June and his number was disconnected. Quote

He's a young bassist and a Cecil Taylor/William Parker freak. Tried to track him down for a gig in June and his number was disconnected. I don't know who you're talking about and there's no way you can tie me in to his disappearance! If the police suspect foul play, they're crazy! I'm sure he'll turn up... some day. You're not gonna pin this one on me! I'm innocent I tell ya! OH! Sorry. I misunderstood. I hope your missing (and not, I repeat, NOT-at-all dead and pretty sure he'll ... surface ... some day) friend (bastard!) is enjoying his lucky find. Heh heh... Quote

Templejazz Posted August 8, 2003 Report Posted August 8, 2003 Duke Pearson Ebay Crazy?? Is this item that rare to have a $160.00 Buy it Now? Of course it looks real tasty and I've never, ever seen it before in my life. Quote
Rooster_Ties Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 (edited) re: the previous post. What the hell album is this?? I looked up Duke Pearson on the AMG, and couldn't find this listed. Granted, I'm not up on every Pearson album ever released, but I figured I'd at least vaguely know what it was from the title and/or the cover. Images from the auction... edit: Looks like it's just a retitled issue of this: Dedication! (1961 Prestige / OJC CD release in 2000) Edited August 9, 2003 by Rooster_Ties Quote
Claude Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 It´s the wellknown (and cheap) Freddie Hubbard Black Lion disc: http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&u...l=Awya9qjmyoj0a Quote
J.A.W. Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 (edited) The Japanese JazzLine, the Black Lion and the OJC are CD reissues of the same album; the first two have alternate takes in addition to the original album, the OJC only has the master takes. Edited August 9, 2003 by J.A.W. Quote
jacknife Posted August 10, 2003 Author Report Posted August 10, 2003 This one qualifies for craziness...Last I checked, you can get a brand new one for $39.00 Randy Weston Mosaic Select Quote
Guest Chaney Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 This one qualifies for craziness...Last I checked, you can get a brand new one for $39.00 Â Randy Weston Mosaic Select This lucky winner (heh heh!) took the set for $46. Sad thing is, this newbie is now gunning for the Bennie Green Mosaic Select. He's the current high bidder at $36. No the brightest bulb... Four more days to go so he'll most likely find a way to drive the price higher. He also won the Woody Shaw Mosaic for $71.50. Quote
Claude Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 But he also won a "True Blue" TOCJ for $16.85, which is an excellent price. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=2547622685 Quote
