J.A.W. Posted April 19, 2004 Report Posted April 19, 2004 This ebay ad says the Hank Mobley Mosaic is out of print. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...4007271102&rd=1 Currently $152.50. What will it be worth when it really does go OOP? I pointed out to the seller that his description was misleading, and he cancelled the auction. Quote
Alec Posted April 20, 2004 Report Posted April 20, 2004 Is Stanley Turrentine's "ZT's blues: really this rare? Stanley Turrentine ZT's Blues I have it and it's not one of my favorites. I'll trade it for the Mosaic Set! Quote
jacknife Posted April 20, 2004 Author Report Posted April 20, 2004 Well, I'll try it again. I listed my ZT blues for a reasonable $75 buy it now ! It worked for Morgan's Rajah, can lightning strike twice? I don't get why anyone would pay so much for a single cd! Quote

Alec Posted April 21, 2004 Report Posted April 21, 2004 Hmm, brand new from Mosaic for $145.00, or almost new on ebay starting at $149? What to do, what to do ..... Ebay Stitt Quote
Tom in RI Posted April 21, 2004 Report Posted April 21, 2004 Concerning the Stanley Turrentine, ZT's Blues, I was trolling through some used cd's at a nondescpipt suburban music store when I found a copy ($7.00). I picked it up and put it down and went on, figuring, well, I have the Turrentine Mosaic so I must have this. Wrong, the session was originally issued under Art Taylor's name. I checked Half.com and someone had it listed there for $99. Of course, when I went back the next day to score it was gone (did you pick it up, .:Impossible?). A gracious board member who I related the story to sent a copy. Quote

Ebay Stitt I'd rather have it from Mosaic because if there's a problem they'll replace it. However, I've had very good experiences with this seller. Plus, you gotta love anybody whose address is the People's Republic of Cambridge. Quote
mgraham333 Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 It's not a mosaic set but it's funny Quote
PHILLYQ Posted April 28, 2004 Report Posted April 28, 2004 There's a whole thread on this- also check out the link to the auction for the ass-kicking- equally as funny! http://www.organissimo.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=9716 Quote

sheldonm Posted May 30, 2004 Report Posted May 30, 2004 For a mere $500 you could have this nice BN watch! Once Free BN watch! It may be a "true collectors item" but $500.00??? How about $20.00??? Quote
Guest Chaney Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 I remember when THIS ONE was a hot item and would sell for big bucks. How the mighty have fallen. Quote

RDK Posted June 10, 2004 Report Posted June 10, 2004 Mosaic brochures for sale on ebay I once bought a big lot (about 25-30) of old Mosaic catalogs off of Ebay. I won them for only about $5, but they were shipped from Canada and cost me over $20 in postage. Still, they were pretty cool and well worth it! Quote
BruceH Posted June 10, 2004 Report Posted June 10, 2004 Is this disc going to become a collectors item? I doubt it ... If this were a rock record, maybe ... but I don't think they'd be many jazz fans so gullible for this to attract consistenly a high price. Probably not----but I can always hope! Quote
Craig23 Posted June 10, 2004 Report Posted June 10, 2004 i want this set but $510.00???!!!!!!!! + shipping!!!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...me=STRK:MEWA:IT Timing is everthing. I bought the Blakey set on ebay last year for around $220. Yeah, timing is definitely everything. I recently got this set on eBay for, I think, $179 and I was the only bidder. After an ending price like that ($500+) you may want to keep watch for others to sell their Blakey Mosaics expecting a price like that. The "market" may saturate and you could get it for a cheap price. Quote
Brad Posted June 10, 2004 Report Posted June 10, 2004 Man, that's screwed up. Maybe I should consider selling mine. Quote
Craig23 Posted June 14, 2004 Report Posted June 14, 2004 This isn't my auction and I know this would probably serve better in the "Offering" thread but since someone in this thread was looking for a copy of the Art Blakey Mosaic...... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 Hopefully, it won't end at such a high price this time. bebopbob Posted June 15, 2004 Report Posted June 15, 2004 Dizzy Gillespie on the French Riviera Philips CD - currently on ebay at $91.00 with three hours left. Too, too rich for my blood. Hopefully this will be reissued again somewhere. Quote
Son-of-a-Weizen Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 (edited) Geez, if the opening bid were just a dollar or so lower I might go for it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...4019351480&rd=1 Edited June 17, 2004 by Son-of-a-Weizen Quote
kulu se mama Posted June 17, 2004 Report Posted June 17, 2004 what cracks me up is there is another copy of the mfsl gold "blue train" listed for $18 without a single bid. the last copy to sell sold for $27. why would you waste your money listing something for $149 that won't get a single bid?
