captainwrong Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 someday I'm gonna sign up to this e-music stuff... ...when I can trust myself with it... the nice thing is, because it's a subscription, you know how much you're spending a month and sometimes you can really get a ton of much if you find albums with long tracks. Of course, you do have to avoid the temptation of the booster pack... Quote

NaturalSoul Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 What plan does everyone have? I have 100 for 24.99. Quote
NaturalSoul Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 If anyone likes Dave Dondero emusic has the newly remastered Sunbrain (his old band) albums from Ghostmeat records. They are mighty fine. Quote
WorldB3 Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 (edited) 75 downloads for 19.99 which is kind of too much but based on the 120 records in my saved for later list obviously not enough. Edited April 21, 2008 by WorldB3 Quote
NaturalSoul Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 I have the 100 plan mainly because i just download indie albums, not really much jazz. And indie rock stuff has at least 10 songs on it, i usually get about 10 albums a month. Quote
captainwrong Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 Two grandfathered accounts, 90@$19 and an annual 90/month that comes to less than that. Quote
Noj Posted April 22, 2008 Report Posted April 22, 2008 75 downloads for 19.99... That's the the deal I have. I spent most of this month on The Rolling Stones, since I only know their big hits. Quote

Its great to be able to get the mp3s of the Stone stuff I have on vinyl. Make sure to at least get Beggars and Let It Bleed as they are two of the best records of all time, and the singles/b-sides Child Of The Moon, Memo From Turner and the cover of I Don't Know Why (aka Don't Know Why I Love You). mjzee Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 90 for $19.99/month, 75 for $19.99/month (but I paid for a full year). Quote
A Lark Ascending Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 All part of a free trial! In addition, it's worth checking the Chandos main site and this place for Chandos downloads, Tony: http://www.classicsonline.com/ (I use the latter for Naxos now). The main Chandos site now has very high quality files as an option. I find e-music is great, except for albums with lots of short tracks. An album with 25 tracks can eat up your monthly quota quite quickly. Quote

They certainly have a good choice. To be completely honest, I'm downloading because our PC's CD drive is on the blink at the mo. The large pile of discs I've recently bought is waiting to go on the iPod but obviously I can't upload them until it's fixed. So in the meantime, a bit of a turnaround on the iPod is required for some fresh listening! Your point about the short tracks is spot on. I was about to download the recent release of Rusalka then realised for all those very short tracks I could have the same amount of very long tracks instead. A true Yorkshireman eh? "..'appen". Quote

captainwrong Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 So much for downloading the Miles From India and some old Stones since there gone, still managed to get some good stuff. Weird, it is gone. I saw they added it again the other day, but now they're both gone. Quote
WorldB3 Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 ^ Yes he does, I would listen to the man sing the phone book. One of the few records by him I didn't have. His last Blame The Vain was one of his best. The Eddie Palmieri and the Paul Bley trio also kicks ass. Even when I am pissed at emusic for taking away the main things I wanted to download I still come away with great stuff. Quote
