Grachan Moncur III Select

Can someone refresh my memory as to the problem with the Grachan Moncur III select when it first came out. Didn't it have something to do with the first disc? Weren't new discs sent out?

I ask because I just picked this set up and noticed that the sound clip on the Mosaic site that is labeled "Thandiwa" matches up to the 1st tack on the 3rd disc called, "Hipnosis"

Is this a problem with labeling on the CDs or on the Mosaic site?

I don't have the set, but you should be able to tell by the instrumentation.

The problem was with the first disc. Song number 1 should have been Saturday and Sunday but actually was Hipnosis. When I ordered the set it came with both the problem disc and the corrected disc.

It appears that the song labeled as Thandiwa on the Mosaic site is actually Hipnosis.

Needless to say (so why am I saying it ), Mosaic sent out corrected CDs to purchasers.

"Thandiwa" is a real cooker, with Wayne Shorter, so it is easy to distinguish between it and "Hipnosis".

Now, if only they had got the sound right on this excellent set. At least, you can get most of it on TOCJ CDs.

Looks like Mosaic updated the website to reflect the correct title of their 3rd sample track - it now correctly reads, "hipnosis"

Is this why the first tune on disk 1 is 10:26 not 11:16 long?
